Barton the project is a truly wonderful place, full of surprises. Imagine a secret the project hidden inside a beautiful park — that's where I had one of the most special experiences of my life. Volunteering there is dynamic, with something new to do or someone to connect with every day. The atmosphere feels like a small but close-knit family. The work is fun, diverse, and full of learning opportunities. Located in of the most beautiful cities in the world, I made great friends, learned new skills, and stayed longer than planned because it truly felt like a second home.

A one of a kind experience! Ben is a kind and reasonable guy, and I got along well with all the travelers here. Lots of people come back for a second time, which shows how well liked it is.

I loved my time at the project. Ben and the whole team are great. You can volunteer based on your skill set. For example, I helped organized events, other people take care of the animals, technical jobs, etc. There are private rooms (without heating and plumbing) and dorm style in a central house with plumbing, heat, etc. About 40 minutes from city center by bus and there are night buses. Great place especially in summer and fall, there are lots of volunteers (15-20ish) so very social. Lots of amazing community projects are in the works! I am excited to return one day!

I really enjoyed the days I spent at the project, the nature, the other lovely volunteers and the friendly goats really made it beautiful. I unfortunately had to leave early due to an emergency and everybody has been very flexible and kind about it. I'm really happy I got to live this experience!

I volunteered at the project for a week and had a great experience. Ben was a kind and supportive host, and even welcomed my friend to join. The tasks were manageable and we often finished early, helping out with other small jobs. The other volunteers were friendly and created a welcoming atmosphere. the project is a unique place with a great sense of community. I'd love to volunteer there again and highly recommend it to others!

I enjoyed my stay and it is a great place to contribute your own ideas and start projects. Everyone was really open to different ideas of contribution and it's a creative and free space. However that can also lead to a lack of structure and I felt a bit lost at the beginning. Still a great experience though and the location is great to explore Edinburgh :)

This experience has been magical to me, I met a lot of good people from around the world and made beautiful friendships. Everyone is nice and warm. They are flexible, patient and helpful. You will feel like home and fall in love with the place. I totally recommend it if you want to have a great time. I've also learned a lot about culture, history and had a lot of fun. I'll keep this in my memory forever🩷
