My time in Playa Avellanas was awesome! Justin is a great host and made me feel welcome from day one. The work was light and accommodation fantastic. The town is small, but really nice, and located near a surf beach. I highly recommend to anyone looking for an unforgettable Worldpackers experience! :)

I volunteered at a small Airbnb in a quiet surf town. The tasks were light—cleaning one of the three apartments every few days. The place is very remote, so without a car you are pretty much depended to the host or you need to hitchhike to get groceries or back and forth to the next bigger city. There's not much to do unless you surf, but the beach is beautiful and peaceful. I shared the house with Justin, the relaxed and communicative host. I had my own bed and bathroom, and access to the kitchen. I ended my stay a bit early to explore more of Costa Rica, which was no problem at all.

My first Worldpackers experience in Avellanas, a peaceful town near Tam. I came with an open mind and left feeling a strong sense of community. The work was light—housekeeping, yard upkeep, and ensuring everyone had a good time. The people were friendly, and I loved meeting travelers + locals. It was a great opportunity to connect with nature and others, and I left with more love and compassion for myself. Justin is very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient when it comes to teaching me how to surf. If you're seeking a meaningful, relaxed experience, this is the place! Thank you Justin!

I really enjoyed my stay at the guest house, the tasks were very easy, and I always had time enough for going to the beach, using the pool or going around. I also got surfing lessons, my room and the accommodation was just perfect, surrounded by nature and enjoying fresh fruits from the trees which was such a plus for me! Thanks Justin 🙌🏼

I couldn't have asked for a better first volunteer at OneLife. Justin makes you feel super welcome, introduces you to local friends. If you want to stay somewhere to surf and relax then this is the volunteer for you. The work is very chill and Justin is a great host!
