Desde que llegue me sentí bien recibida e incluso me recibieron un día antes a lo acordado y pude descansar tranquilamente, las tareas son muy sencillas como atender en recepción y convivir con los huéspedes. La gente que maneja el hostel siempre está al pendiente ante cualquier duda o inconveniente. Fran siempre está atento, es muy flexible y siempre trata de incluirte en salidas y cualquier reunión que te hacen disfrutar de la mejor manera de Cancún. La ubicación es excelente, ya que está en el mismo centro y cerca de la playas. Me llevo una bonita experiencia de TBH y gracias por todo!

Francisco and the Boathouse made me feel so welcome from my arrival. I felt at home and very comfortable with the team and fully supported. The Boathouse is a great hostel and in a great location. What really made this experience special was the staff and team spirit. I would highly recommend the Boathouse as a great volunteering opportunity, and will truly miss you all once I depart in 2 days, but feel I have gained a family for life and was a great opportunity to start my volunteering journey.

It was my first volunteering experience here and I had a great time with everyone. I got to improve my Spanish and the other volunteers as well as the hosts made me feel welcome really fast!

I had a good time and improved my spanish. The staff was very welcoming. They took into consideration that I travel with my friend and gave us free time on the same days which was very nice.

Mi realidad fue algo compleja porque cuando me postulé no había que dejar la seña de 50 dólares y de repente cuando una pareja no quiso dejarla y se fue, tuve que ponerla como garantía de mi estadía en el voluntariado. Sinceramente, Dania tuvo ciertas actitudes que no han sido de mi agrado como un par de enojos tontos, exigencias del voluntariado fuera de mi horario y la indiferencia para con los voluntarios. El espacio es lindo y Carlos lo lleva genial, las empleadas hacen que te sientas a gusto y todo lo prometido es respetado. Muy agradecido de ser parte de the hostel! 🙂

Really lovely hostel with really lovely staff, Dania etc were so so nice - however, can be quite isolating if you are not fluent in Spanish because volunteers can be quite cliquey, in my time I felt slightly left out by other volunteers who all came from the same country. If you are coming from a background of not being able to speak fluent Spanish, be prepared not to have many to converse with, luckily there are other social hostels nearby. The hours and conditions of the hostel were exactly what were promised. Overall, I would recommend the hostel if you are looking for something relaxed.

Cuando Fran esta a cargo de los voluntarios todo fluye en armonia, toma en consideracion tus actividades para hacerte tu horario te trata con respeto y es muy humano en cuestion de trabajo, si cumples con tus responsabilidades puedes ganarte tours y el tour que gane 12/10. Sin embargo sus conflictos internos en gerencia hizo mi estancia incomoda, con un ambient pesado, donde querian cambiarme lo acordado, cubrir responsabilidades que no eran mias y ni hablar del desayuno, nunca desayune a causa de insumos de mala calidad o simplemente no habia insumos. Pongo 5 estrellas solo por el tour.

Overall I had a very mixed experience at the hostel. I really enjoyed the other volunteers and staff members and the overall vibe of the hostel, but there were many things that raised some concern for me. First of all the cleanliness of the place is not well maintained. It was rare to find hand soap in the bathrooms and the sheets were often ripped or stained. One of the owners had made some uncomfortable comments towards me and other women staying in the hostel which I had found very unprofessional. We were promised free tours but they wanted us to write 10 fake reviews to get them.

The work is very laid back and simple, you meet many travelers and help out the guests, which is very cool. There were usually 3 shifts, 8am-1pm, 3pm-8pm, and 8pm-1am, so the amount of work hours was respected and very rarely the volunteers helped out outside of shifts (night check in or if busy). The breakfast is included and it was very nice, sometimes there were pancakes or chilaquiles, as well as coffee all day :). We could use the boogieboards which was a lot of fun. I had a great time and made great friendships, thank you for making me feel welcome, especially big thanks to Meche!

Had a great time at the hostel, met so many amazing people especially other volunteers. The whole team especially Meche made me feel so welcome from minute one. Nice location in downtown Cancun and good facilities, okay flexible working hours. A very nice chill vibe at the hostel and it's easy to go to the beach and trip to other cites on you days of.
