Phil and Sharon has been welcoming to me since the start . We shared a lot of our respective cultures. Food was organic , nutritious and delicious and there was good wine to top it off. I was also brought to Albany and areas near Mt Barker with spectacular views. The dogs were lovely as well.

My two weeks with Phil and Sharon were absolutely incredible, and I cannot recommend them enough. They are the warmest, kindest, and funniest hosts you could ever hope for, making me feel like part of the family from day one. The work in their beautiful the farm was always enjoyable and rewarding. I helped with a variety of tasks: weeding, painting, digging trenches to install a new irrigation system, helping in the kitchen, dog sitting. The hours were fair, and it was great to contribute to such a cool project.Honestly, a perfect stay. It felt more like staying with family than a work exchange.

This has been an incredibly fulfilling hands-on experience. Phil and Sharon welcomed me with open arms, and immediately I felt at ease. Phil's passion for plants is contagious. With his guidance, every day I have planted trees and shrubs across the various gardens, pruned and propagated countless plants and learnt about reticulation. My life skills have grown, and I have had the opportunity to get involved in animal care, and well as building and dismantling with Sharon's support. Highly recommend coming here, you'll feel all your efforts are coming to fruition!

Sharon and Phil made me feel right at home. I absolutely loved every part of the experience, whether it was planting, reticulation, exploring local areas, meeting locals, mowing, cooking etc. They are very easy going and made sure I had the best experience!

One of the best volunteerships I've ever had. Phil and Sharon are fully present in asking their volunteers what we want to learn, see and experience. Phil is eager to teach in the gardens; I learned reticulation, used a ground drill and a loader. Though whatever you're comfortable with will be perfectly okay. Sharon is eager to show us around the beaches, she planned a camping adventure and we even went fishing. Working on the project feels like making a difference in a the farm utopia. I stayed in one of the rooms in the main house and it was very comfortable and private!

As soon as I arrived in Australia from Argentina I went to volunteer at Phill Y Sharon's house. I was there for 3 weeks and I want to say that it is the best thing I could have done because they welcomed me as one of the family, they gave me comfort at all times, they showed me amazing places around their village and they taught me many things about planting, irrigation and their amazing the farm. They are great people that I had the pleasure of meeting and they made my arrival better than ever. Totally recommended it, it's an amazing experience that everyone should have.

Great time at the farm. Felt like part of Phil and Sharon's family. The tasks were straightforward and hours of work were respected. Learned a lot about irrigation and planting/potting techniques. Had great food and a lot of free time to rest and walk around. Good hikes nearby too with the ocean and beaches being only 30 minutes away!

Both Sharon and myself really enjoyed having Bennett here. We'd be happy to endorse him to any Host. We hope he can make it back someday.

Working with Phil on his the farm has been awesome! Mount Barker is a little bit off the beaten path, but boy is it worth it. Especially if you like a slow paced day. It's the country, so it's a small town and things close early, so there is plenty of time to relax and explore the area on foot or by bike. The work was always something new, and I learned new skills up until the last day. The ins and outs of planting, irrigation, and painting. The work can be hard sometimes, but it is certainly worth it. Phil and Sharon are extremely hospitable and go out of their way to make sure all is good!

Winston's stay here was highly valued by both Sharon and myself. We'd be extremely happy to recommend him to any host - for his attitude, demeanour, diligence and overall self.

This was my first volunteer experience and I couldn't be happier with my choice, in fact, I ended up staying a full week longer than I had originally planned! I had a great time while staying and working here. Mt Barker is a nice area with lots to do nearby. Phil's vision for the gardens is cool. Phil taught me many different skills and I learnt a lot about gardening, and Aussie life. The work was interesting and different every day. The meals were great and it was a social atmosphere. My room was very comfortable.
