I had a wonderful experience at this hostel. The atmosphere between volunteers and guests was incredible, and my assignment was exactly what I was looking for. The host trusts the volunteers and gives them complete freedom regarding yoga classes. I highly recommend this hostel.

This was my first volunteering experience and I had such a great time. Lucky was a great host and always made me feel welcome. The reception role is very chilled and the tasks are not difficult. There are multiple volunteers which makes the experience feel like home and I quickly made friends. I really enjoyed the vibe at the hostel, with surfing and yoga each day as well as an activity each evening. I would highly recommend volunteering here.

I really enjoyed my time at the hostel Backpackers Hostel! Every day, there is yoga in the morning, surfing in the afternoon, and an evening activity, which creates a great community vibe! I was here as a yoga teacher, and I really enjoyed being able to teach yoga classes on the beach. There were accidentally too many yoga teachers hired at the same time, and I enjoyed taking classes from different people and different perspectives; however, I was hoping to get practice teaching and wasn't able to teach as often as I was hoping to. Overall, a really great experience:))

I stayed at the hostel for two weeks, and it truly felt like home! I met incredible people. The work was easy and flexible, giving me plenty of free time to explore and enjoy the city. Lucky, the host, is friendly and always willing to help. This hostel is perfect for socializing and meeting travelers from all over the world. There are always fun evening activities, bringing volunteers and guests together to create unforgettable memories. I had an amazing time and would highly recommend it.

This was my first volunteering experience and it was a perfect choice. The host (Lucky) was very helpful and kind:)) everything went according to what was agreed upon. I had a lot of free time, but we also did activities together. Thank you for the wonderful experience, and I hope we meet again!!

I did stay in the hostel Backpackers Hostel for 1 month and 3 days, it was a great experience. The host ''Lucky'' was so friendly and helpful from the beginning to end and he was explaining every details. We become like a family with other volunteers as well and we were doing nice activities together almost every day, such as ordering food to the hostel or go out together, party on Saturday night and so on. The job was mostly doing shift in the reception for 6 hour for 3 days of week so I had plenty of time to discover the area which was perfect. I definitely recommend this volunteer job!! :)

I would recommend volunteering at the hostel. I felt welcome, there are some activities volunteers and guests can do together almost every day. The work wasn't really hard, there was not that many guests at that time so it was quite chill. Unawatuna is a nice town, there's a nice beach for beginner surfers, Turtle beach, some nice Cafés and bars but also local restaurants. The host is nice and friendly. Overall, I enjoyed my experience.

My stay in the hostel backpackers hostel was an amazing experience that I really recommend other volounteers. It was my first one with worldpackers and I am really happy. The tasks are easy and you don't need previous experience, you have lot of free time to explore the area which is very close to surf spots, beaches, temples and train/bus station to reach other cities in your free days. local people working in the staff are very kind and nice. As the host is very fast to response to new applications I suggest to new volounteers to text a lot about your expectation/needs before your stay

I had a very good experience in my 3 weeks in the hostel. The host Lucky is very friendly, helpful and tries to bring all the volunteers together as a team (eating out, party,..)There are no meals or discounts in restaurants, but the host cooked with us once. I was there during the off season and there weren't many guest. Unawatuna is a great town with a lot of things to do or day trips, I had a lot of free time and could see a lot. The facilities are ok. Overall I would recommend volunteering here
