It was super nice to spend this 3 weeks in Várzea with Chris, Shawn and the other people that lives in the community. The tasks was super clear, the personal Yurt was nice, they follow what they promised. The farm is wonderful, super good nature vibes. It had a river, dog, cats and some chickens that give some eggs to us. The farm it's very sustainable with argila house, composta bath and some fruits and vegetables growing. Aljezur it's a “hippie” village, good feelings. Chris went with me to the beach when I arrived, and show me the castle. I want to come back in future.

Chris y Sean fueron muy cordiales y cálidos al recibirnos. Los horarios son respetados y las tareas algunas son de esfuerzo físico y otras tranquilas en el jardín, tienes la tarde libre por lo que puedes descansar. Es un lugar para sumergirte en la naturaleza y la vida de campo.

My experience at Chris's community was truly inspiring. I enjoyed my own respected space in the mountains in a yurt but had friendly interesting community of music all around me. I was safe as a 18 year old girl alone. Chris is a wonderful teacher and an inspiring learner. He taught me not only about a realistic way of producing a substantial amount of good food from the land around me, but about astrology, the tides, and life in general. Chris is a bank of stories. Wifi was incredible, enough good food, relaxed hours of valuable work, home was warm for winter, Chris took care of me very well.

This was a true escape from the big city – just what I needed. The host was wonderful, the people were kind, and the nature around was simply beautiful :) I was happy to work with my hands and contribute to something meaningful!!

O Chris é uma pessoa de mentalidade jovem, isso com certeza trás muita leveza, fizemos alguns passeios, ele me levou para a praia, tomamos vários cafés, também tive a oportunidade de conhecer alguns moradores locais, pessoas muita agradáveis e educadas, enquanto estime na várzea tive a Oportunidade de realizar muitas tarefas que eu já sabia pois aprendi na minha infância, isso foi ótimo pois facilitou meu trabalho, me dando a oportunidade de ser eficiente…consegui ensinar português para o Chris, ele ficou quase fluente. 😅 obrigada por me receber!

Our time at Chris project was very enjoyable and I learned a lot about the usage of different plants and some of the materials Chris used to built all of the amazing accommodation on his property, like the yurt my girlfriend and I got to sleep in. It was fun to help Chris making things a little more tidy and seeing the results of your work whilst being appreciate for it. He invited us to visit a local market where we got to try delicious olives and we were also invited to spent Thanksgiving with all of the other very welcoming people. All in all it was very nice 😁

Our experience at the project was 10/10. Chris and Shawn are extremely kind and helpful, as well as everyone else on the property. Such a beautiful valley to spend your time in. We would've absolutely stayed longer if we could've, as it feels more like home everyday. The work days were rewarding and reasonable. It is such a beautifully cultivated community. Thank you so much for having us and sharing your home!
