Positive role model to guide and uplift young lives
L'expérience
We need people who are loving but can also discipline our children. Our children come to us from a history of abuse, neglect, and poverty. Volunteers are needed at Misión México all year round, and people from all over the world come to dedicate their time and effort. We consider a volunteer to be a "friend in authority" here at Misión Mexico. Our children need love and fun, but also guidance, routine, and consistent limits.

Activités et horaires
Every day at Misión Mexico is different but generally volunteers are involved in:
● Supervising our children throughout the day
● Assisting with the daily running of the refuge (wake up, bedtimes, chore supervision, etc.)
● Assisting with health and hygiene needs for our younger children, such as cleaning your teeth or brushing your hair.
● Organizing creative activities such as arts and crafts, music and cooking
● Organizing educational games and activities
● Organizing sports activities and exercise, such as soccer, dance, basketball, yoga
● Assisting with homework
● Assisting with outings.
Whilst we welcome all applications, we strongly encourage those who have experience and qualifications working with children. Volunteers must have a love for children and a willingness to share their time and compassion with patience, humor and flexibility. Being able to work as part of a team is important as there will be other volunteers and staff.
Règles
●Remember that you are volunteering for a children's refuge, therefore you are ambassadors of the refuge when you are out in public, and you must act that way. Please always behave in a respectable manner; no drunkenness or drug use accepted. Select your locations wisely; we ask that while you are volunteering at Misión Mexico, you do not visit local places that are considered inappropriate e.g. strip bars. We want you to have fun and be able to relax outside of volunteering hours, but please consider
that you are only here for a short time and it will go quickly. If you really want to "let your hair down"; please do so on your vacation time. If your behavior is inappropriate, you may be asked to leave.
●We ask that you stay a minimum of three months, but we strongly recommend that you stay longer. It takes time to gain children's trust and learn the daily routine. A longer-term commitment often leads to a more rewarding experience.
●FYI-We have pets at the house (dogs and a cat).
