Esta experiencia de voluntariado fue increible ! El pueblo esta bien ubicado para conocer charcos, eventos historicos, naturaleza, etc. El personal es super amable y atento. En el rol como tal, se conoce a mucha gente muy acogedora y divertida. Ademas, se aprende mucho sobre como ayudar a la gente a aprender y a progresar. Por otra parte, las instalaciones son muy comodas y tienen lo necesario. Por ultimo, el director es muy claro sobre las tareas, lo que hay que cumplir y lo que se nos da cambio.

Okay, guys, this has to be the best volunteer possible. Eduin is what I call a super host. Don't feel intimidated by the place being in the middle of nowhere. It's a very safe area and beautiful nature a long the way. Whatever you don't take the rapido tolima bus. The bolivariano bus is 100 times better, and it's the same price. The kids and teachers are super cool. They are going to make you feel comfortable and at home. I wish we could stay longer, but we had tickets already. Everything is pretty walkable. The place where we stayed was great. You can rent washers, they bring it to you.

I had an incredible experience at the Polytechnic! I worked with them for a month, and it was wonderful. Everyone was very attentive, organized and friendly. Thank you for everything.

Julia is an excellent person, she was very willing all the time. SHe managed to connect with students, teachers with people in general. She helped us a lot in our classes, In-Person and Virtual. SHe has a great charisma for working with children and young people. I recommend her.

Best experience ever! I stayed in the school teaching English for 1 month and it was amazing .. Eduin is a great host, he really cares about the team and makes sure everybody feels happy and confortable. Everybody in the team is nice and friendly, and I felt at home! I loved teaching to kids in the school and see their culture .. I would come back for sure !!

I loved my stay at the school! The work is challenging, but here you can make a real social impact for children. Eduin and his team taking care of you during the whole time. It's a perfect opportunity to get in touch with locals and the Colombian culture. Mariquita is small and safe. A good chance to improve your Spanish skills. Be aware that it's super hot here. But I would definitely recommend the volunteering :)

I had a very good experience at Poiltechnico! Eduin is amazing, very helpful and super accommodating. You meet amazing local students who are very curious and willing to learn. It is also a great way to practice your Spanish. Be prepared that most people in Mariquita do not know English, so some basic Spanish phrases I would say is necessary. The teachers are also very nice and helpful. At times it felt a little difficult to immerse in the local culture but after a while I got more into it and I felt sad to leave. I would recommend to stay for at least a few weeks.

Frida is a very good girl, she is very friendly and a very good teacher, students and our school team love her. Frida is always on time, responsable and extrover. She helped us a lot with our students, she prepared every activity to teach with love and passion, we highly recomend Frida.

I enjoyed this experience teaching more than going out because I had to get to know the town by myself, and this one is not big, but it is mostly peaceful and people are very kind; on the other hand, students are respectful and do their best to understand you, even if you only speak in English as I did during my classes. Unfortunately I couldn't stay longer cause I had to get back to my workplace.

I stayed for a week here and enjoyed the experience. I felt welcomed by Eduin and the rest of the team, and the staff and students were very engaging and were very interested. I enjoyed the lessons, having conversations with the students and helping them to slowly but surely improve their English skills. The accommodation at the main building was comfortable, but extremely loud as you were literally in the building itself right opposite a classroom. My suggestion would be to let volunteers know that this would be the case beforehand so they are aware that it is noisy from 8am-8pm.
