I thoroughly enjoyed this volunteering experience. 😀 It was my first time volunteering outside of the city, and I could really feel the nature around me—the roosters, cats, dogs, birds, and especially the clear air. There was a small river where I could swim after working, which was a refreshing treat. The working hours were reasonable, and the food was amazing. Thank you, Marina, for cooking and taking care of us. Lupe is a knowledgeable, fun, and nice person to talk to. I learned a lot from his stories. I feel so lucky to have had this experience. I will miss everyone..Thank you again

I am very grateful to have stayed with Don Lupe, Haber and Mari on their finca. They helped me understand the life and properties of cacao even better and how to harvest and produce it in a traditional way. I felt very welcomed, the food was delicious and I was able to improve my Spanish. If you are looking for an educational, authentic experience, this is a beautiful place to be.

The finca is a beautiful place to connect to nature and find calmness in our sometimes rushed life. Don Lupe and his family are very great hosts that really cares about the well-being of the volunteers. He is a fun person that has a lot to tell and teach. He is very open to feedback and new ideas to always be improving :)) I really liked his mindset. The working hours are very fair and you learn about cacao and you get to taste delicious chocolate. I recommend everyone to stay at the finca and enjoy the simple life in nature, enjoying the river, the birds and the clear sky every night :))

Si lo que buscas es un lugar tranquilo donde puedas conectar con la naturaleza y aprender hacerca de la plantación del cacao este es un excelente lugar, la simplicidad del día a día más la calida compañia de don Lupe y su familia hacen del camping un lugar muy recomendado donde estar, saludos!

Volunteering at the camping was a fascinating experience. The familial atmosphere and daily tasks at the cacao farm were engaging. Accommodations were minimal, yet allowed for a deep connection with nature. Don Lupe, Mari, and Heber were incredibly welcoming and supportive, even encouraging my experimental cocoa butter making. Mari's home-cooked meals were delicious. Swimming in the river after the shift and campfires at night were magical. Communication with Don Lupe was effective. I highly recommend the camping for those seeking to disconnect and learn about cacao cultivation firsthand.

La experiencia en el camping ha sido muy hermosa. El Proyecto realmente tiene mucho corazón encima y la familia de Guadalupe han sudo siempre muy atentos con los voluntarios. Nunca faltó deliciosa comida ni experiencias variadas dentro del cultivo y procesos del cacao, que está delicioso. Además pudimos aprender de agricultura, animales, cultura y jugar al boleyball con la gente del pueblo. Creo que agradecerán ayuda para recomponer los efectos del huracán del pasado año y el interés por la naturaleza. Siempre se respetaron los tiempos de trabajo y hay flexibilidad para organizarte

Mi experiencia en el camping fue muy gratificante, pase unas semanas hermosas con Don Lupe, su familia y los otros voluntarios. Las comidas de Doña Mari son exquisitas, y con Ever hemos idos a jugar al voley con otros habitantes de Toltepec, lo cual fue muy divertido. El lugar tiene un río muy bello en el cual te puedes bañar, y la noche es ideal para realizar fogones, mirar las estrellas y tocar la guitarra. Don Lupe es muy respetuoso de los saberes que traen consigo quienes visitan su fincan, lo que me permitió realizar fotos y videos, proceso q disfrute mucho. Sin dudas voy a extrañarlos

Una excelente experiencia dónde aprendí muchas cosas, Don Lupe se encarga de que conozcas todo el proceso del cacaoy de que te sientas cómodo en todo momento, la comida de doña Mary es riquísima. Una experiencia que recomiendo ampliamente y que pronto espero repetir.

La experiencia en el camping ha sido magnífica. Pude compartir con viajeros de mi país y otros países, aprender sobre el cacao y sobre sistemas agroecológicos. Toltepec es un pueblo hermoso y cercano a muchas playas, sin dudas es un lugar privilegiado. Larga vida a don Lupe, la señora Mari, Eber, la finca, al cacao y a Toltepec. Agradecido por todo.
