The hostel was my first volunteering experience and I wouldn't have asked for anything more! The hosts were super welcoming and created fantastic vibes. The overall vibe of the whole hostel was just like one big family (with guests, volunteers and management). Being the low season tasks were simple, with different tasks to help get the hostel ready for the high season. I have created memories at this place that will stay with me for a lifetime.

The hostel is rated so highly on worldpackers for a reason! I had a great start to my year volunteering at GSH. I met so many open and interesting volunteers and guests and Gijón is a perfectly sized city with enough to do. The work itself is well organised and was very calm during off season. Mareike, the manager and Ivan, the handyman are great at what they do. The main beach is about 15 mins away but you need just 5 mins through a park to get a view of the ocean along the cliff. Highly recommended!!

Fue una muy linda e inesperada experiencia. No sabía que mi estadía en este hostel me pudiera brindar tantas lindas y sanadoras experiencias. Hay muy buena energía y agradecida por haber colaborado en el hostel, espero les siga yendo muy bien. Les mando mucho cariño 💜💜💜

No se por donde empezar, me senti en casa desde el dia 1. Fue mi primer voluntariado y la verdad que NO PODIA HABER SIDO MEJOR! Dejará la vara muy alta. La manager me recibio de una manera muy agradable al igual que mis compañeros voluntarios, todos terminaron siendo grandes amigos. el hostel basicamente te permite pertenecer a otra familia y saber que cuando quieras volver, las puertas estan mas que abiertas. Las tareas las aprendes muy facilmente. La ubicacion del hostel, la gente, el ambiente, todo fue hermoso. Volvere en verano si o si. Gracias a Britt y Mareike por todo!!

My purpose was to practice Spanish and go surfing... and I improved both. So I'm very happy :) I'll always be grateful to the host to have given me the opportunity to spend 4 weeks here: GSH is home!

Mi experiencia en el hostel fue muy buena. La ciudad es tranquila y hermosa, el hostel es simplemente increíble, Alvaro y Britt se portaron realmente muy bien y el grupo humano que formamos los voluntarios fue increíble. Sin duda una hermosa experiencia

Tuve la oportunidad de hacer un voluntariado en GHS y no podría estar más agradecido por la experiencia. Desde el primer día, el ambiente fue acogedor y relajado. El equipo fue amable y siempre dispuesto a ayudar, lo que hizo que me sintiera como en casa. Britt y Alvaro son unos excelentes anfitriones y las instalaciones del hostel son muy bonitas. Recomendaría esta experiencia a cualquier persona que busque combinar trabajo voluntario, surf y conocer a personas con intereses similares. ¡Sin duda, una experiencia inolvidable en Gijón!

Caer en este voluntariado es un lujo. El hostel es hermoso, limpio, amplio y cómodo, la ubicación está genial y la vibra que se genera en el equipo de voluntarios como con los huéspedes es una good vibe 🌸🙌🏼
