Everybody at the hotel is really nice! The experience is perfect if you're looking for something relatively quiet while still having the possibility to enjoy Edinburgh and other nearby busier cities as well on days off, as the train station is only a few minutes by foot from the Hotel. As for the work it's easy, various and you can adjust your shifts. The hotel can get a little busy on the weekends, but it's more relaxed on the weekdays. Depending on how full the hotel gets you also have your own room or you'll have to share with one other volunteer so it's really cosy either way

Helping at the hotel was great. The host is great at trying to make volunteering hours work for everyone and still give you some time to explore Scotland, especially on your days off. She and the rest of the team were welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable -- and good for practising English with! You'll be able to learn some valuable transferrable skills, as well as feel immersed in Scottish culture -- make the most of the Fife Coastal Path, which starts 5mins away from the hotel! A good opportunity to meet interesting people from many different places and backgrounds :)

We had such a great time at the hotel. Working hours are flexible and you'll always have time to explore the area. I work remotely and I could combine the two things perfectly. Everyone was so nice and helpful! Both guests and staff made us feel welcome. This is a great opportunity to learn about hotel management, practice the language, and meet other travelers. Overall, we're really grateful for the experience!

The hotel is a great, relaxed place to volunteer. The location itself is pretty quiet but gives you easy access to Edinburgh and surrounding areas where there is lots to explore in your free time. The tasks themselves are simple and they try to schedule around your commitments if you work or study etc. The staff have treated me super well and I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to volunteer here. Highly recommended!

The hotel and the hotel gives plenty of suitable possibilities of getting to know the guests in the hotel as well as interesting chances of practicing English language. The Hotel thinks actively with you to adjust your working hours to your college or free time obligations. The work tasks could be done in a quite relaxt and friendly atmosphere. All the other staff members are friendly and are likely to invest a lot of time in their volunteers. the hotel and the hotel is highly recommendable for everyone who would like to know the Scottish hospitality, nature and culture.

The hotel is a great place to volunteer, they are very friendly and welcoming. If it wasnt for covid I would still be there. If I get the chance, I'll go back in a heartbeat. Thanks Babs and Cameron

Tras 2 meses y medio trabajando aquí, puedo recomendar la experiencia. El sitio es generalmente muy tranquilo y el trabajo a realizar, por tanto, lo es también. El hotel no es un lujo, pero tienes tu propio cuarto con baño y puedes usar la cocina, el comedor y el bar para estudiar, estar con el ordenador... El pueblo es muy tranquilo y tiene un paseo costero muy agradable. Los tres trabajadores del hotel son muy majos y te enseñarán tus quehaceres con paciencia. Por tanto, si buscas un lugar tranquilo para trabajar y estudiar o simplemente pasar unas semanas relajadas te lo recomiendo.

No, no recomendaría a nadie la experiencia en este sitio. Me trataron fatal, y me echaron sin motivo, culpándome a mí encima de todo. Pedí explicaciones y no me las dieron. Las que me dieron eran poco concretas. Precisamente buscaba defenderme, pero no se me dio la oportunidad de ello. Entre otras cosas se me trató como si fuera gilipollas, me intentaron colar que me levantara a las 4 de la mañana a poner el agua caliente, (a lo que por supuesto me negué) , me pidieron que desviara a mi teléfono el del sitio, siendo yo una simple voluntaria. Un horror. Y encima no me dejaban despedirme.

I stayed in the hotel for almost 2 months and I'd have stayed more: The Managers are so funny and easy going but also very down to earth: they were very patient with me and I learned a lot. It's located in a calm town with plenty of options to do if you like outdoor activities. They lend me a bike to ride whenever I wanted and this area has bike friendly routes and astonishing coastal paths, but if I wanted a wee of hustle and bustle, Edinburgh was only 20 minutes by train. I had a room of my own, I was at home. I felt in love with Scotland and I would definitely come back. Thank you, guys!

Muy recomendable experiencia especialmente si estas estudiando o con otro trabajo al mismo tiempo. Las tareas son livianas y la comodidad del hotel es inmejorable (habitacion y baño privado para todos los voluntarios) y ademas que el equipo es amigable. Si quieres ir a recorrer Edinmburgo (depende de tu presupuesto) pero solo lo recomiendo en tus dias libres.
