L'expérience

We are a Plant Medicine Healing center in the native Shipibo community of San Francisco, Pucallpa, Peru. The healers come from a long lineage oy onayas (Shipibo for master healer) and they use ayahuasca amongst other plants to help people to get back in touch with themselves and heal physical and mental conditions.

We need help in translating between Spanish and English to chat with people and help around.

Détails du programme

This program involves translating between English and Spanish for the guests during ayahuasca retreats, and between retreats. We are a healing center and we have guests from all over the world come to stay with us, sometimes for long periods of time. We are always in need of help with translation as we speak only Shipibo and Spanish and some of our guests speak no Spanish at all.
We spend most of our time at the center; reading, socialising, playing volleyball, meditating etc.
At times, we go out on the river for a trip in the boat, or for a trip to the center's farm, or to the nearby cities of Yarinacocha and Pucallpa.
On ceremony days, we usually go to the farm/jungle for San Pedro, and stay at the center for Ayahuasca or Cacao ceremonies.
There's a family feel at the center amongst guests and other volunteers, and we love welcoming new people.

Activités et horaires

Volunteering as a translator, there are no fixed hours or requirements, just to be around whenever we need your help. You will be staying with the guests and be an active part of the ayahuasca retreats.

Règles

The primary things we require of you are compassion, understanding, open mindedness and humility. This is important because as a volunteer, you will be interacting with the guests, some of who are going through very deep and sometimes difficult healing processes and need to be in an environment of compassion and support. As a volunteer spending time with with guests undergoing deep healing processes with the plants, and the maestros who are working with the plants regularly, it is important for the well being of everyone here that you be as energetically clear as possible during your stay. We don’t require you to follow the same strict diet as the guests (unless you are working with the plants also), but require you to avoid drugs, some low vibrational foods such as pork and sex while you are staying with us.
