Meaningful Social Community work in Malapascua Island
L'expérience
Volunteering at Georgia’s Neverland Hostel is about supporting the local community and island life. Volunteers help teach English to local children, support feeding programs for children and stray dogs, join beach clean-ups, and take part in daily workshops and cultural sharing. Located on Malapascua, a small island famous for thresher sharks, we’re in the north, 5 minutes from North Beach, where magical connections with locals happen naturally.

Détails du programme
Each volunteer day starts with a 1-hour morning workshop, creating positive energy and connection between guests and volunteers before beginning the work. These workshops are a space to share knowledge and practices such as yoga, meditation, workouts, reading, arts and crafts, and other creative or mindful activities.
Four days a week are dedicated to supporting the local community through beach clean-ups, teaching English to children at the local school, feeding stray dogs and helping at an animal shelter, and cooking for children’s feeding programs—where we spend time singing, drawing, dancing, and connecting.
One day a week focuses on hostel projects, which may include painting signs, decorating, helping with social media, or light building tasks, depending on your skills, interests, and needs.
Working hours are 9:00 am to 2:00 pm daily, including the workshop hour. Dinner is provided. On Fridays a communal dinner will be cooked and shared by the volunteers and any guests might want to join. On weekends will plan optional group trips. Volunteers also will be given free time in case they are doing their diving courses.
Règles
To keep our community happy, safe, and supportive, we ask all volunteers to follow these simple guidelines:
- Respect one another at all times. Kindness, open communication, and consideration for different cultures, backgrounds, and opinions are essential.
- Quiet hours must be respected so everyone can rest and recharge.
- Clean as you go, especially in shared spaces like the kitchen. Please wash your dishes and leave common areas as you found them.
- Be understanding and flexible. During very busy periods, volunteers may be asked to move to a shared room or enjoy a camping night with a bonfire as part of the experience. Be happy with a simple accommodation and shared bathroom.
- Show care for the hostel, the local community, and the environment.
- Participate with a positive attitude and support fellow volunteers and staff.
