A truly legendary opportunity to come and be part of our dream hostel team, swim in the mythical waters of Loch Ness, and explore the stunning Scottish Highlands. We're looking for volunteers to help with cleaning, changing beds, laundry, reception, and running events for our awesome guests. We need you to make our guests' experiences unforgettable and join in group hikes, wild swims, classes, folk dance parties, and more with fellow travellers.

Détails du programme

We're looking for sociable, outgoing backpackers who want to come and join us in the epic Scottish Highlands. While there will be cleaning work and admin work to do, the focus is on creating a legendary experience for our guests through activities, events, and chilling out together on the Loch. We have our own beach meaning you can go for a swim whenever you like (though careful, we hear there might be a monster about).

Lochside Hostel is located on the shores of Loch Ness, about 45 minutes direct bus journey from Inverness. We are part of Macbackpackers, a tour company in Scotland, and are happy to help you plan your trip - you might even get to jump on one of our tour buses to the Isle of Skye or Glencoe! We have an on-site shop, free laundry for volunteers, and loads to do in this adventure-packed part of the world.

Activités et horaires

Shifts will be organised so that each week everyone does a bit of everything - housekeeping (changing beds, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, laundry), reception (preparing continental breakfast, welcoming guests, using cash register), and events (running games nights, group hikes in the local area, pool tournaments, etc). Full training will be provided for each of these shifts and I will be on site at all times to help make sure you're comfortable, safe, and having a good time.

Shifts range from 3 hours (cleaning) to 5 hours (reception), but your hours will never exceed 21 total per week. You will get free breakfast every morning, and once a week we have a free team meal. Several supermarkets deliver groceries directly to the front door of the hostel. You will have a bed in our mixed staff dormitory - please note, we are unable to separate genders due to limited space.

We ask you to stay with us a minimum of 3 weeks. We cannot accept under 18s for insurance reasons.
