Can you help tell the stories of some of the world’s most resilient, courageous and inspiring people - sensitively, creatively and with impact - through film? If so, we could be looking for you. The volunteer will produce high-quality promotional materials (videos and/ or photos [photo albums]) for online platforms (e.g. websites, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) and help in auctioning the videos and photos to raise funds for our work

Détails du programme

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for a talented and mature filmmaker to make a real social impact with their truly rewarding work as a PARC volunteer. S/he will play a crucial role helping PARC build a powerful framework of stories and evidence on our work in Uganda. S/he will make short impact films, case study portraits, and mini project documentaries and will proactively look for opportunities to reach a broad audience with these films. S/he will be responsible for film, sound recording, lighting and editing of films which will help drive action with key audiences. Supported by PARC’s Director, s/he will proactively look for opportunities to reach a broad audience with these films. In additional to making films, s/he will play an important role building the capacity of PARC's volunteers/staff and primary actors in storytelling.


Activités et horaires

The volunteer will be introduced to local authorities and staff/volunteers. Accompanied by our team, s/he will meet and interview children, men and women including opinion leaders, teachers and social workers on the local situation of the area, the problems faced by the locals, what we are trying to do to solve these problems, and why people need to join us to change this situations being faced by the community we serve.

It just about capturing moments, events and activities as the happen, and then creating visual-audio materials that tell a story to the world.


Règles

Special interest in non-profit sector development and willingness to work and live in a rural remote area.

Culturally in Uganda, everyone needs to wear fairly smart and decent clothes including causal wear.
Men: Shorts or long trousers, t-shirts or shits with sleeves, sneakers or regular shoes.
Women: Dresses or skirts below the knees, modest tops with shoulders and abdomen covered. The ladies may also wear trousers and vests, but these should keep thighs, waist and shoulder covered.
Note: Please bring with you walking and trekking shoes, our activities involves visiting homes in hard-to reach mountain areas.
