Détails du programme

About Us:
We are a married couple with four children, living on a small scale farm in the Lofoten islands. We bought the farm, that had not been actively farmed since the 1970s, in 2018 and accidentally startet farming. Now we are working to regenerate the farm and the land, selling our products to the best restaurants in the region.

In 2024 we started welcoming volunteers to help out at our farm. This has been a great experience, with wonderful young people visiting us and making valuable contributions towards fulfilling our mission of creating a sustainable farm.

The volunteers live in a house on the neighbouring property, they cook together and enjoy activities like hiking in their free time.

🌿Get Hands-On Experience: Dive into the world of sustainable agriculture as you spend time alongside us and the other volunteers. Whether you're sowing micro greens. harvesting veggies, packing for delivery, stacking fire wood or foraging for wild plants. you'll gain invaluable skills and knowledge.

Volunteer tasks:
🌱 Assisting with planting, watering, weeding, harvesting crops and packing for delivery
🌿 Foraging for wild plants and mushrooms
🚗 Doing deliveries to our restaurant customers
🪵 Chopping fire wood
🛠️ Participating in farm clean up, building and maintenance tasks as needed
🎉 Help out at our farm-to-table events
👩‍🌾 Take part in our community and help out with cooking and cleaning

Activités et horaires

A typical day at the farm in the summer season may look like:
10.00: Morning meeting, tasks assignment (ex harvesting/packing vegetables)
10.15-13.00: Assigned task
13.00: Lunch at the barn
14.00-16.00: Assigned task

In the winter season, the tasks are more towards tidying, cleaning up and doing building and maintenance projects on the barn and farm house. We also chop and store firewood, do snow removal, and seed starting. Occasionally we host events at the farm, and everyone is expected to help out as needed.
