YEDA is seeking a committed Community Health Volunteer Instructor to support community health promotion and prevention initiatives. The volunteer will deliver health education on hygiene, nutrition, disease prevention, and basic first aid, engage community members through participatory learning, and contribute to building healthier, informed, and resilient communities.

The YEDA Community Health Volunteer Program is designed to strengthen community health awareness and resilience through education, capacity-building, and participatory outreach. The program engages committed volunteers to support health promotion initiatives at the community level.

Objectives:

Increase community knowledge of hygiene, nutrition, disease prevention, and basic first aid.

Promote healthy behaviors and practices in households, schools, and public spaces.

Strengthen community capacity to respond to common health challenges and emergencies.

Foster local leadership and volunteerism in health education and advocacy.

Volunteer Role:
Community Health Volunteer Instructors are trained and supported by YEDA to:

Deliver age-appropriate and culturally sensitive health education sessions.

Conduct household visits, workshops, and community awareness campaigns.

Identify community health needs and report challenges to YEDA coordinators.

Mentor other volunteers and collaborate with local health authorities.

Program Approach:

Recruitment & Training: Volunteers are recruited based on commitment, experience, and community engagement. They receive structured training on health topics, facilitation skills, and YEDA’s values.

Implementation: Volunteers plan and deliver sessions in schools, community centers, and public spaces using interactive, participatory methods. Activities include demonstrations, discussions, and practical exercises.

Monitoring & Support: Volunteers are supervised by YEDA coordinators who provide mentorship, monitor progress, and gather feedback to improve program impact.
