Programa detallado
We invite volunteers to join our school garden initiative in Hai District to help teach children practical agriculture, nutrition, and sustainability. Volunteers will support activities such as preparing garden beds, planting, watering, composting, managing seedlings, assisting teachers during garden lessons, and documenting project progress. We expect volunteers to collaborate respectfully in school environments, be open to cultural exchange, communicate well with students and staff, and be flexible with daily tasks as activities may vary based on weather and school schedules.
In return, volunteers can expect a meaningful learning experience in a friendly and supportive community. We provide orientation, guidance, cultural interaction with local families, and opportunities to deepen knowledge in environmental education and community development. Volunteers will gain hands-on experience in sustainable gardening while making a positive impact on children and schools in the Kilimanjaro region.
Actividades & Turnos
Volunteers will help establish and maintain school gardens by preparing soil, planting, watering, composting, caring for seedlings, and harvesting. They may also assist teachers during garden-based lessons, prepare educational materials, document activities, and support community clean-ups or environmental workshops.
Shifts typically take place in the mornings at partner schools when classes are active, with planning, training, or cultural activities in the afternoons. Tasks may vary depending on weather, school schedules, and project needs. We expect volunteers to be flexible, collaborative, and comfortable outdoors activities.
