Programa detallado
Aik Berik Green Living is a unique volunteer program based at a local forest school in Aik Berik, Lombok. Focused on sustainable vegetable gardening and ethical animal farming, the program offers hands-on learning experiences that benefit both the environment and the local community. Volunteers work alongside students, local farmers, and educators to support food self-sufficiency, eco-education, and community empowerment. The forest setting provides a peaceful and immersive learning environment, perfect for those passionate about sustainability, nature, and community living.
Volunteers contribute to daily agricultural routines while also engaging with children and local residents in practical environmental education. This program is ideal for anyone interested in permaculture, agroecology, rural education, and cultural exchange.
Actividades & Turnos
Morning Shift: Vegetable Gardening (07:00 – 10:00)
Activities include:
1. Preparing soil and composting
2. Planting, watering, and weeding
3. Harvesting fresh vegetables
4. Assisting and teaching students about organic gardening
5. Maintaining garden tools and beds
Afternoon Shift: Goat and Chicken Care (14:00 – 17:00)
Activities include:
1. Feeding and watering goats and chickens
2. Cleaning pens and coops
3. Observing animal health and wellbeing
4. Assisting students with animal care lessons
5. Maintaining shelters and fences
Reglas
To maintain a safe, respectful, and impactful program, all volunteers are expected to follow these guidelines:
1. Respect the local culture, customs, and language.
2. Be punctual and committed to the agreed activity schedule.
3. Dress modestly and appropriately, especially around children and elders.
4. No smoking, alcohol, or drugs allowed on site.
5. Use resources mindfully, especially water, tools, and organic materials.
6. Be proactive and flexible, as activities may change due to weather or school events.
7. Practice kindness, cooperation, and open communication with all team members.
8. Keep the area clean and participate in daily clean-up routines.
9. Ask before taking photos, especially of children or local residents.
10. Safety first – report any injuries or concerns to the coordinator immediately.
