Mi experiencia Weedo fue positiva, siento que las chicas pudieron aprender, sin embargo su aprendizaje hubiese podido ser mayor si dominaran mejor el inglés y tuvieran una mayor motivación. Las instalaciones quedan retirado de la casa de hospedaje, así que tuve que aprender a coger transporte público lo cual te permite incorporarte más en la cultura, sin embargo toda la dinámica diaria me la explico otra voluntaria, casi nunca tuve contacto con la anfitriona. Agradezco la experiencia y me voy con muchos aprendizajes.

El trabajo que realizan por enseñar a las niñas sobre tecnología , inglés y confección es realmente maravilloso porque crea oportunidades laborales para su futuro , tanto la casa como la escuela son muy agradables , la casa queda a 5 minutos caminando de la escuela y la playa a solo 3 km es realmente hermosa y vale la pena visitarla . Considero que el voluntario debe ser tenido en cuenta para más actividades y desarrollar un cronograma definido para el dado que en mi caso tuve mucho tiempo libre y siempre era yo la que buscaba la iniciativa para realizar alguna actividad con las niñas .

Rehema es una increíble mujer, que ha formado WEEDO, para mi fue una experiencia increíble, poder aportar en este hermoso proyecto que trabaja para empoderar mujeres, además tuve la libertad de poder crear mis propias clases y enseñar lo que yo sé, nutrición y salud. La casa donde me quedé esta al lado del colegio, pero ambos están un poco alejados del centro de Dar es Salaam. Si necesitas algo es importante la comunicación, Rehema siempre esta abierta a escuchar, por lo que no esperes el último día. La única dificultad fue que las niñas no hablan tanto inglés,pero están aprendiendo ;)

Working at WEEDO has been a lifechanging experience. Rehema, the founder of this project is an incredible Person, and I am so lucky I got to know her. She really believes in changing the life and opportunities for as most Tanzanian girls as she can, the mayority of them coming from extremely hard backgrounds. This School is a Safe space for them to create a brighter future and empower them to dream big. They need people to believe in them. The house, the school, the times, the meals, everything is great and the Tanzanian people is extra welcoming. I will miss the girls and the team so much.

Overall, I am glad that I chose to join WEEDO and I had a valuable experience. Rehema is an inspiring woman who is doing important work. However, the communication between the organisation and the volunteers could be improved. On several occasions, I was left to figure things out on my own without clear guidance, or I was expected to do tasks that had not been explained beforehand. There was also a lack of introduction and overall structure. As a result, I feel that my time and skills were not used as effectively as they could have been for the benefit of the girls.

I did my internship (2 months) at WEEDO in the field of communication. It was an incredible experience, far beyond my expectations. I learned a lot in so many areas…Everyone, the staff, the girls and Rehema were very kind and welcoming to me. Rehema is a very nice person, very welcoming, she made me discover a lot of things. I created great relationships with the girls and if I had to do it again, I would definitely do it again! I am happy to have done my internship with this the organization. Kigamboni is a very nice place to live and there is a very beautiful beach nearby. Thank you WEEDO! :)

Teaching at WEEDO was a beautiful experience since the girls were really welcoming, loving, and eager to learn. The open communication with Rehema and reoccurring feedback meetings made me feel supported and in good hands. Also the ongoing optimization of processes in the the organization showed that the positive longterm impact on the girls is the number one priority and not taken lightly. Overall, I was able to learn a lot about the culture, connect with locals, and share lots of beautiful moments I will never forget and thought me a lot.

First of all Weedo staff is very nice tracking your arrival and helping. Then, you really get involved with the culture. People is so nice. I was teaching basic computer to the girls and felt so happy to see their progress. It was sooo hard to say goodbye. I recommend to anyone that really wants to get immerse with Tanzanian and African culture, know other volunteers, bond with the girls/students and staff, and help in the organization girls. Pd. I did 1 month only but recommend to stay at least 2. To have better progress with girls/students. Love you Weedo

I'm grateful for the opportunity to be part of this amazing the organization. The main mission is to provide young women with skills they can use to be independent and support themselves. WEEDO really cares about the girls there and everyone is very opened to new ideas that could help with achieving their mission and goals. I wish I could have stayed longer and do more. The location was perfect, you can immerse yourself in the local culture (I recommend going for a run with the local community even if you're not a runner) but you're also close enough to the city. A life changing experience for me!
