Great experience! I was immediately welcomed in their family and stayed for 2 months. This NGO supports a lot of vulnerable families by providing the children school materials, shelter children in emergency situations… I really enjoyed getting to know these children and teaching them English. In addition to this group of children, we also went to a group of street children. It is very enriching to get to know them and their living situation Justin introduced me to the local culture and lifestyle. They also teached me a lot of Swahili! I enjoyed my time with this NGO! I felt very welcomed to their home. The first day Justin showed me around the town which then allowed me to spend my days off exploring. There are many different opportunities to assist with this the organization. I personally taught the children English and had lots of fun with them. I also helped with fundraising opportunities and growing the the organization. It was amazing cultural immersion. I was given 3 plentiful meals everyday and had my own private room. It was a great experience volunteering with Justin, the project is really important and helps in the rescue and support of street children and also in other social projects in Mwanza. I stayed for 3 weeks and was very well received by Justin, Lucky, their children and their entire family. I believe that the schedule of activities to be carried out by volunteers should be improved and defined weekly.
