Experience an authentic Colombian culture in Acacías! 🇨🇴✨

Would you like to immerse yourself in local traditions, live with a Colombian family, and make a positive impact on young people passionate about learning English?

We welcome you into our home in Acacías, a warm and charming town where you’ll not only find a comfortable place to rest, but also a unique opportunity to connect, share, and grow.

Actividades & Turnos

We’re looking for volunteers to support our students in improving their speaking, listening, and vocabulary skills through real conversation and interaction.

You’ll help by:

Leading conversation clubs on topics like:

Airport & travel vocabulary

Ordering at cafés & restaurants

Everyday life & common expressions

Informal slang and practical phrases

Supporting basic grammar sessions (guided by local teachers), sometimes volunteers will have a group where they can take them from one level and take them to a higher level.

Participating in our fun and dynamic “Street Classes” — outdoor lessons where we walk through the streets of Acacías practicing English and filming short videos for our social media.

Assisting in our popular "English Immersion Day" — a full-day bilingual field trip packed with creative activities and immersive learning experiences!

If you have any artistic talents (painting, drawing, singing, etc.), we’d love for you to share them with our students!

Reglas

-Volunteers will follow the local rules such as, turning the lights off when there's nobody in there, take care of the utensils, of the fridge and everything if any of these ones are broken by accidentally it needs to be replaced for a new one.

-We expect volunteers to keep this place clean during their stay, with particular emphasis on the bathroom and kitchen areas. *People* who are not part of the volunteer program SHOULD NOT STAY in the house for any reason, unless they have been authorized to do so.

-Please, be mindful that the weather in Acacias is hot and humid, so we HIGHLY RECOMMEND you to use deodorant and to take showers every day. (we will tell you with all respect when there's bad smelling around)-

-Being pro-active always and open minded is totally necessary.

-have a great attitude and willingness for helping students and be respectful all the time with everyone.
