I stayed here for two weeks and had an amazing time. I was very warmly welcomed and really felt at home from the start. The food was great and well taken care of. I visited in December, so it was quite cold, but that was part the farm experience. The work can sometimes be a bit physically demanding, but it is absolutely manageable. You are expected to take on a certain level of responsibility, which I personally appreciated. At the same time, if you ever need help, you can always ask and someone will be there to support you.

I spent 3 weeks with Bjørnar and Svanhild and it was an experience I will never forget. The tasks are different almost every day and are said the day before or in the morning. Some days were easier and other days were physically challenging, but thats the farmer's life :) After I finished my tasks I had free time to ride the bike, hike, try cross country skiing and explore the surrounding area which is beautiful! I also got to see the Northern lights and learn a lot about their culture! The other volunteers I meet were really nice and a lot of fun! I wish to come back another time :)

I spent a week in the beautiful North and, despite the short duration, it was absolutely worth it! I jumped out of my comfort zone and gained experience in a new way of living and working. I would recommend staying for at least two weeks to better adapt to the new routine. I met some amazing volunteers from various countries and challenged myself with manual labor. The hosts were kind, friendly, and welcoming. I might, however, suggest a more detailed communication regarding tasks and schedules (sheep permitting :)). Stunning nature and forever-lasting memories are guaranteed! Thank you!!!

I had a positive experience volunteering here. I got to try many traditional Norwegian dishes and foods, and learn about the local culture. The bed was comfortable and it was a private room. I came here in September, and the workload seemed to be less intense than the volunteers who were here before me. Overall it was slightly over the expected hours, but not to bad, and they let you be flexible with when you work (although you usually start at 7.30 to feed the animals). The work was not too hard, and it changed depending on what needed to be done- so you are always trying new things.

My host was incredibly kind to me. With so much nature and such beauty, it's a place I'd highly recommend to anyone who loves the outdoors. I even got to see the aurora during my two-week stay. It was also great to make friends with volunteers from other countries. Working with the sheep was tough, and schedules weren't always followed, but after discussing working hours with my host, things improved. Thank you!

Børselv is a the farm place sorrounded by beautiful nature. There is not much around, but you have a store nearby and couple of places to eat. Svanhild and Bjørnar were really nice, we learned a few things about Norway and could borrow some work clothes. We usually had warm meal for dinner and free access to kitchen and fridge for rest the farm day. The work was manageable, but there is no schedule really. I would like to know at least the day before what needs to be done for better time managment. Other than that I had a good time at this farm, enjoyed the Norway nature and farm life .

Thank you, Karolina. The farmer and the volunteer exchange services. The volunteers may find that there is no schedule, while the farmer has a strict schedule. However, the daily schedule can change quickly due to the weather or the animals. Therefore, we ask for volunteers with a flexible approach. We would like to thank you again for good help. And we wish you all the best in your future.

The 2-weeks stay in Børselv was my first volunteering experience and I definitely don't regret! North Norway is so stunning and I really enjoyed the nature and the peaceful atmosphere. Still, there were a few I-wish-I-knew-before moments. The hosts are an elderly couple and they are nice. You will help them take care of their farm and sheep. The work we did was partially hard and exhausting and some days were longer than expected (with no more free time in return) - we had to prepare the farm for the return the farm sheep for winter. The sheep are very cute and I enjoyed working with them! :)

Thanks. Farmwork has different seasons. When you were here it was important to prepare ready to take the sheep to protect them from predator attacks. It is always dilemma when we bring the sheep home never know how long it will take. At the same time, it is our intention to protect the volunteers from long and exhausting days. We can make plans with the sheep, but animals have different plan. That is why we are asking for volunteers with a flexible approach. We would like to thank you again
