Join us in breaking the cycle of shame, silence, and school dropout among vulnerable girls in Kenya! At Our Community, we’ve launched the Empower Her Project, focusing on menstrual health management, sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and dignity restoration for girls who are at risk of dropping out of school.

Programa detallado
This program empowers vulnerable girls aged 10–18 with:
🩸 Knowledge about menstrual hygiene management (MHM)
✊ Understanding of their sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR)
🧕 Dignity through access to She Kits (reusable or disposable pad bags with essentials)
💬 Mentorship, life skills, and safe spaces for open conversation
🎨 Creative tools like comic books, art, and storytelling to break period stigma
Actividades & Turnos
🌄 Morning (9:00 AM – 12:30 PM): Community & Centre Support
In the mornings, volunteers support various activities including:
Helping with cooking, cleaning, or organizing spaces at the centre
Assisting with younger children (feeding, playing, learning)
Supporting our daycare or sewing projects
Preparing She Kits for distribution
Visiting homes or schools to assess girls’ needs (optional)

☀️ Afternoon (2:00 PM – 4:30 PM): Mentorship & Menstrual Education
This is the heart of your mission! You'll join or lead:
Mentorship sessions with girls (10–18 years)
Menstrual hygiene & SRHR workshops
Creative sessions (storytelling, comic book lessons, discussions)
School or community outreach events
Distributing She Kits and gathering feedback

🗓️ Days Off:
Volunteers typically have 3 day off per week. Weekends may include community outings, cultural visits, or optional mini safaris (organized separately).

Quiet hours begin at 9:30 PM—please be mindful of others.
No alcohol, drugs, or smoking allowed on the property.
Romantic relationships with community members are not allowed.
