The farm is so special! It's very nice to have the opportunity to learn more about another way of life, specially in a space everybody is interested in sharing it with you. I felt so welcome and it was so important for me to volunteer with teenagers: teaching, but learning, sharing and listening to their feelings and view of life at the same time. The same with the kids, who are always able to be present. Colette, Louis, Henri and Jacques are so smart, but completely different from each other, what makes the experience so rich. Niels and Stephanie are generous, funny and receptive.

My stay there was so meaningful for me. The family is very welcoming. Tasks were super easy and i was happy to do them. House and enviroment - perfect for detox. I had so many conversations with family members. Even though i had to leave a bit early they understood that. I also came to so many conclusions there. If you looking for peaceful time its perfect position

A wonderful, calm family with a very broad and open worldview Unique education of children that promotes and gives a good opportunity to raise "not slaves!" A wonderful detox from the world in the middle of the mountains surrounded by olives. My best two weeks in 2025, thank you🫶

This was my first time with WorldPackers and I could not have had a better experience. I absolutely loved my time with Stephanie, Niels, the kiddos and all the animals - I truly felt like part of the family! The location is breathtakingly beautiful and really allows you to slow down and appreciate everything. I really enjoyed cooking for the family and got to improve my skills in the kitchen while falling in love with the vegan lifestyle (fully left as a vegan too)! Everyday was filled with laughs and good conversation and I highly recommend this experience - you won't be disappointed 🥰

I had a really great time during my stay! I enjoyed the peace and quite of the nature and going for a run with the dogs in the morning. Niels and Stephanie have 4 amazing children and you can always share a laugh with every single one of them. This is the kind of experience nobody knows they need. 🌞

I had a truly wonderful experience staying with Niels and Stephanie. I joined them as a amateur cook, and it was the perfect opportunity to grow my cooking skills and explore the world of plant-based food. Niels and Stephanie are incredibly kind, welcoming, and supportive – especially when it came to my meal ideas and kitchen experiments. They have four lovely, social kids who were always up for playing board games, going on walks, swimming in the pool, and helping out in the kitchen. All in all, amazing people and a beautiful place. I highly recommend this experience!

Thank you so much to the whole family, it was definitely the best first experience as a volunteer with Worldpackers. I leave with a heart full of beautiful memories, and special thanks to Loui, who not only became a great friend but also felt like a brother to me. Niels, thanks to you, many of the ways I saw or understood life and the world around us have changed. A genius ahead of his time hahaha. Without a doubt, El Serrato will always be a part of me!

This was a gorgeous experience. I loved living with Niels, Stephanie, their four children, and many cats and dogs. I felt welcomed immediately into their warm home and family. I really enjoyed the work - painting walls - and the time spent with the family and other volunteers. The house is deep in the mountains, and I went on walks every morning with the dogs. I hope to go back! Thank you for this experience :)

This was my second time here, 2.5 weeks went by so quickly! I cannot wait to come back again! Being here just feels like home. Even though this is such a remote place there is something happening every day, which makes the experience so diverse and interesting. I think I already stated in my first review that it was truly life-changing, I would like to repeat myself :D If you like baking, please note that the family favourite is cinnamon rolls, make sure to double the recipe!

My first volunteering experience was really special, thanks to the kind and welcoming the farm. From the start, I felt comfortable and had the freedom to be creative in the kitchen. The working hours were fair, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The beautiful mountain landscape was the perfect place to relax and recharge. It was a great chance to unwind and refresh both physically and mentally.
