I really enjoyed my time volunteering and working with the people and other volunteers at the camping. David and his family were very welcoming and friendly and provided comfortable places to sleep and a kitchen space we were free to use as well as providing us with food during our stay. Work was very easy and the hours were very reasonable. Great place to enjoy and explore nature as there are many hikes and various excursions to take part in around the campsite and Gerês. I would really recommend this place to anyone looking to escape to nature for a while :)

Estive voluntariado no camping por 4 meses e minha experiência foi incrível. O geres é realmente um lugar magico, onde pude encontrar a paz e tranquilidade que tanto procurava. David e sua família são pessoas incríveis e muito bem humoradas, me diverti muito com todos e fico feliz de ter aprendido um pouco com cada um deles. Espero poder um dia reencontrar todos. Agradeço por me receberem tao bem e me fazer sentir parte da família. 🫶 O trabalho é muito tranquilo e os horários sempre muito respeitados. Novamente obrigado por tudo 🙏

David e sua família sāo muito simpáticos e me fizeram sentir em casa. O camping é uma paz e um ambiente tranquilo e familiar, a cachoeira passa literalmente no meio do camping e é encantador ouvir o barulho da água ao dormir e ao acordar. Quanto aos trabalhos, David é extremamente compreensível e educado! Me sinto grata pela conexāo!

Meu voluntariado no camping iniciou com muita, mas muita chuva mesmo, porém isto em nenhum momento foi um problema. Muito pelo contrário, foi super importante para se conectar com aqueles que já estava lá!! David e sua família são incríveis…ah e o Gustavo também 😜, sempre uma diversão na hora do café, almoço e jantar e, até mesmo nas atividades, me divertia muito. O camping é lindo demais, no meio da natureza com as cascatas passando ao lado…incrível!!! Ainda vou retornar para o camping 😄

Foi incrivel voluntariar no camping! Lugar lindo, contato diário com a natureza, silêncio e paz... as atividades são tranquilas, horarios flexíveis, comida boa! David é um dos melhores anfitrioes que conheci! É gentil, educado, se preocupa com o nosso bem estar... e sua família é incrível igual! Nos divertimos muito e todos foram muito amáveis. Recomendo muito a experiência de voluntariado no camping, principalmente pela forma gentil, cuidadosa e responsável que David gerencia o lugar, ele e sua família nos fizeram sentir em casa. As tarefas são bem tranquilas e os horários flexíveis, refeições excelentes, deliciosas e variadas. E o lugar é simplesmente incrível, uma das paisagens mais lindas que a gente viu, o camping fica no meio do parque, o rio passa do lado, cachoeira bem pertinho, uma paz incrível. Fomos muito felizes nesses dias no camping, agradecemos muito por nos receberem tão bem, espero vê-los em breve!

In my opinion: the place is nice, but unfortunately Im not a vacation person/dont like doing nothing and whenever I asked for more work, nothing. Some things that might improve the campsite could be: - A basic training / a clear instructions sheet for volunteers - better organization providing the food for the volunteers or in general - A better communication system, especially for those who dont speak Portuguese David's family was nice, but I found that better management of resources would enhance the experience. I hope these suggestions help for improving the campsite :)

I appreciate the feedback and suggestions but unfortunately I am not authorized to provide food for breakfast and lunch as if it were a hotel, this is out of the question.
Even though you asked me for tasks several times, unfortunately I couldn't, because a simple task to perform would take you days to complete, I wish you success and I really hope that you develop small activities and learn and live together in a community and not just alone.
To the next hosts I recommend large group activities for better execution, as alone this would be a BIG problem

There are two shifts, Morning and Afternoon: •M: cleaning bathroom and picking up the trash. •A: bartending and ocasionally checking trash, bathrooms and cleaning supplies. Both of which could have different thing to do depending on the day but nothing too hard. David's family was very nice to me and my partner during our stay, the only challenge was to communicate at first since we don't speak portugese but we learned a lot there. If you decide to volunteer here take the weather into consideration, hot days and chilly nights ✨ The campsite is amazing, and so is david's family ❤️
