Community Farm in a Historic Piedmont Farmhouse, Italy
La experiencia
We are a community farm in a traditional 19th-century Piedmont farmhouse. Since 2014, we’ve been restoring it using natural and recycled materials with the help of volunteers. Programa detallado
A typical Piedmontese farmhouse of about 1200 square meters built between the late '800 and early '900 and always intended as a farm for the cultivation of hazelnuts and wine production. You can find us in Albugnano, on the hills of Monferrato, in the province of Asti. The renovation work, which began in 2014, followed the practices and principles of self-construction with the use of natural materials or the reuse of recycled materials and involved several volunteers, enthusiasts and students who wanted to learn participatory construction methods. In addition to the food and wine we offer the restaurant and the hospitality of the B&B, - in collaboration with the SAN Scuola di Agricoltura Naturale - which organizes during the year courses on natural agriculture, permaculture and new agricultural practices oriented to the protection of the environment and the reduction of the use of chemicals; it hosts meetings and book presentations with experts and disseminators, collaborates with universities, the territory and other farms.
