Laundry and Reception Help at Party Hostel!

I had a fantastic stay at Rhino party hostel! Work is very reasonable and simple - location is perfect! So central! The team here are so friendly, and can always talk to Alexandra about anything regarding your stay no issues :) was a little quiet on my PM shifts with the events as it's off season in Jan, but can imagine more 'party vibe hostel' when goes into summer - really easy to make friends with the team and guests - staff kitchen is rather small (max 2 people at a time) but does the job. Would highly recommend Rhino hostel to any worldpacker 🦏🦏😁

My experience at Rhino Party Hostel was great! I enjoyed my time with the other volunteers and the other workers. I will say it seems as if they are in a transition phase, the guests who stay at the hostel are not who you would expect. It would be much easier to have parties if the crowd was younger travellers. The kitchen is also quite small, which makes it harder to cook your own meals. Overall I had a great time, just not what I expected!

Overall, I had a good experience at the hostel, it is in the heart of Lisbon and you can meet a lot of different people. However, there isnt much to do in the 8h shifts as the permanent employees mostly take care of everything and I ended up being quite bored during my shift. But the 3 days off were useful to travel around Portugal. The kitchen is quite small and in the corridor next to the bathroom which made it hard to cook sometimes. The party concept is underway and we had one party during my stay which was a lot of fun, look forward to coming back when the party really gets started!

The hostel was my first Worldpackers experience and I have had a lovely time these past two weeks. The hostel is situated in a great location, close to restaurants and clubs. The work included checking guest in/out and laundry; Summer and João were especially helpful in explaining Ammenitiz and other processes. The three days off allowed me to explore Lisbon and beyond. Thank you to Anne, Angel and Jùlia who went the extra mile to welcome me and ensure I understood the laundry!!

My experience in the the hostel has been such a discovery, as my first trip with worldpackers I felt very welcomed and given the confident to learn and make my own contributions aswell. Sameer, as the reception chief is such a nice and encouraging person. definitely would recommend this experience to anybody who wants to have a good time in Lisbon :)

I had a great time in Lisbon! The girls and the team is great. Sumeer and Alex were such great people and resources during my stay. The party aspect is still in development and the days can seem long, but the other people and the city are amazing.

All the volunteers at rhino party hostel were fun, lovely, sociable and like minded! The reception work was reasonable and the hours were always stuck to. The location was perfect to explore Lisbon and all the places around Lisbon as well. Sumeer and MJ made sure I knew what I was doing when I was volunteering. It's a great way to see Lisbon and meet amazing people!

It has an undeniably wonderful location. My experience was not very welcoming, in terms of interpersonal experience, I missed it. There's a lot of pressure to deliver the work in random ways they ask us, but could prepare a better infrastructure to host us, they put us in a room for 6 people, without supervision, no cleaning. I also think they need to think more about the experience for volunteers, and not just expect us to be workers. It has 4 floors, the reception is on the third floor and one of the things they want us to do for long hours is to be available to go up and down frequently...

Hi Danilo, you get out of the experience what you put into the experience.... as other volunteers who were there at the same time as you, had amazing experiences (just read the other reviews). We are very clear about what the tasks and functions of the position are before you accept to volunteer with us, unfortunately the first 3 weeks of your volunteer you were not committed to the tasks, and only in the last week did you show great improvement and also involvement with the rest of the team. YES - we have 4 floors, and YES - we love to help our guests with their luggage to deliver them a great experience with us!! We are also clear that the volunteer room (your private personal space) needs to be cleaned and organised by the volunteers (we dont touch or move personal belongings).

As you can see on our profile we have amazing reviews from other worldpackers including volunteers that were there at the same time as you.
Unfortunately, since we had multiple problems with you, and after many conversations to try to rectify the situation you still chose to provide negative experiences to our guests, we had no choice but to ask you to leave the volunteering early. Its unfortunate because we always had such amazing experiences wtih other volunteers.
