Great time at Tara's, especially as I was looking for a getaway from the city and to have a bit of country time! I really enjoyed the kitchen shift, working with the others to make delicious veggie meals for everyone. I stayed during the six-week the Center time so my experience may be different from what you will experience as there were quite a lot of other people there from all over the world, coming to experience the Center. I personally really enjoyed this as I got to meet lots of people from all over the world as well as offerings every night!!

It was an amazing experience, people in the Center were very kind and generous. The place is really wonderful and beautiful to spend time with nature. The activities were interesting and I learned from them. The volunteers were very nice and it's very interesting to learn about different cultures and ways of thinking. I am interested to learn more about meditation and Budhism. Thanks Sam, Donna, staff, residents, and volunteers.

I had an amazing time at Tara. From the day I arrived until the day I left I felt so welcomed. The hours were good and tasks were not too difficult. When you're surrounded by these incredible people, it rarely even feels like work. I was there when a six week the Center was happening and I was welcome to join in their classes which was a very unique and great learning experience. I really enjoyed getting to know the staff members, the retreaters, and other volunteers. It truly is an experience I will never forget!!

For our first experience, Tara the Center was absolutely perfect! It didn't take more than 30 minutes for us to feel completely at home—everyone was super friendly and genuinely interested in getting to know us. The food was amazing, with plenty of tasty and varied options to choose from. The work hours were fair, and the tasks were light, making it a relaxed and enjoyable experience. We left not only having met some incredible people but also having learned so much about Buddhism. It was such a meaningful experience, and we'd 100% recommend it to anyone looking to try something similar!

This the Center was a beautiful and heartwarming experience. You had the opportunity to engage with teachings, attend meditations, and ask questions to monks/visiting guests regarding their spirituality. The work is time-consuming, and I stayed here during the winter where days are shorter. However, on break days there is possibility to take trips to neighboring cities like Nottingham, London, Leicester, etc. There are plenty of trails for nature-lovers, and the scenery along with the friendly hosts make the experience what it is :)

My experience at the Tara the Center (TIKRC) was incredible! I was able to share great moments with super excited volunteers and super polite and helpful guests. In addition, of course, I got to spend time with the people who live at the Center. I am very grateful to Donna and Sam for all the respect, affection and joy with which they treated me and everyone who passes through the place. I will carry these beautiful memories with me for the rest of my life. Someday I will return. A big hug to everyone.

My experience at the Center had some positive aspects, like the well-prepared vegetarian food (even though I'm not vegetarian), the peaceful atmosphere, and the nice people. However, the workload felt too heavy for a volunteer position, about 6 hours a day doing tasks such as cooking, gardening, external services, and helping in the café. Having to pay for things like laundry also made the exchange feel less fair. With a lighter workload and some activities dedicated to volunteers, the experience could be much more balanced and welcoming.🙂

I was planning to stay for two weeks, but for personal reasons, I left early. Everyone at the center is very friendly. The only thing is that the tasks rotate. You have a daily meeting where they tell you what you'll be doing that day. I prefer the routine of knowing what to do each day. But the rest is great!
