Some Fee will be chanelled to project as donations through our organization, it will cater for transport to and from the accommodation facility andit will cater for bills like electricity, internet, water and some basic food items.

The Nanyuki Spinners and Weavers volunteer program offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich textile traditions of rural Kenya, while directly contributing to women's empowerment and sustainable livelihoods. Situated in the picturesque town of Nanyuki, at the foot of Mount Kenya, this program connects volunteers with a thriving community of women artisans who are passionate about preserving and promoting their cultural heritage.
Program Goals:
Cultural Preservation: To support the continuation of traditional spinning and weaving techniques.
Women's Empowerment: To contribute to the economic independence and social well-being of local women.
Skill Exchange: To facilitate a reciprocal exchange of knowledge and skills between volunteers and artisans.
Sustainable Livelihoods: To assist in the development of sustainable income-generating opportunities.
Community Engagement: To foster meaningful interactions and cultural exchange between volunteers and the local community.
Volunteer Activities:
Hands-on Learning:
Participate in daily workshops, learning traditional hand-spinning techniques using spindles and spinning wheels.
Explore natural dyeing processes, utilizing locally sourced plants and minerals.
Learn various weaving techniques on traditional looms, creating a range of textiles.
Skill Sharing:
Share your own textile-related skills or knowledge, such as knitting, crochet, or design.
Assist with the development of new product designs or techniques.
Production Assistance:
Help with the preparation of raw materials, such as cleaning, carding, and dyeing wool.
Assist with the production of finished goods, including weaving, finishing, and packaging.
Help with the maintenance of the work space and equipment.
