Had an amazing time volunteering there, was my first experience and I loved it! Julius and P1 are amazing and made us feel very welcome. ♡ The accommodation he provided us was very good and I got to share it with other amazing volunteers. Would highly recommend for someone who is social, you really get to meet so many people during the full moon parties.

Had a great time here, the location is amazing, having 2 beaches on both sides only 5 minute walk away. Me and the host had different ideas initially but always managed to meet in the middle which left me very satisfied with my work here. This place also gets a lot of visitors so its rarely empty and a great place to socialize. During my time here there were about 7 other volunteers so you also can be assured you wont be the only one and theres load of opportunity to develop deeper connections with people that stay for longer. Will hopefully come back one day :)

It's a great place to volunteer! the hostel really has it all, the room is nice and cozy, the work is super chill and Julius was really flexible when i got sick. The island has many nice beaches and parties every night. You get free yoga classes when there's an instructor for it, free breakfast, soft drinks and discount for the things they sell at the hostel. P'one is the nicest lady ever and she is always willing to help you :)

I loved my experience at the hostel. Julius is always available and flexible. P1, his right-hand woman, is adorable. Rooms with bathroom and toilet are ok and reserved for volunteers. I'd love to go back!

I absolutely loved volunteering at the hostel!! Time went by so quick with both full moons being so close together! Julius is an awesome host and he tried his best to make us feel welcomed :) It is true that it's pretty quiet outside of full moon times but it makes for the perfect opportunity to relax and recuperate! I loved working alongside the other volunteers Pedro and Barbara and I would highly recommend this opportunity, you have to be social tho :)

My experience at the hostel could not have been better! I was part of the social team, and my job was basically talking to people 5 hours a day, which I LOVED. I loved my stay at the hostel and being able to meet and interact with so many people!

I volunteered as a yoga teacher for 1 month. At first everything was fine, but the longer I stayed, the more I wanted to get out of this volunteering. I believe the management had very poor communication skills, altering schedules without notice and did not talk to women the same way as men volunteers. One day no guests showed for yoga & he insisted on a private class which wasn't part of the deal. the hostel had good staff, ok rooms and good gym. Week was 4h/d & 2d off. It could be a good volunteering but the lack of communication and gender bias made it an environment I don't recommend

It was an ok experience, the people I met made the whole experience much better, however I felt often that the expectations were quite high when there wasn't much to be done. For example having to complete 5 hours of social media work a day promoting the “social side of the hostel” during the quiet period, there is nobody there so it's hard to do that. I also know other staff members (girls in particular) had their frustrations about communication, and being very bossed around, or not spoken to that well. The working hours over the full moon are a lot but that was to be expected.
