Programa detallado
SKFI and Letis Platforms are committed to equipping young minds with STEM skills to prepare them for future careers and opportunities. As a volunteer, you will teach engaging STEM lessons, facilitate experiments, and mentor students—especially girls—encouraging them to pursue education and careers in STEM fields. You will also have the chance to collaborate with local teachers to introduce interactive and practical teaching methods.
Your role is not just about teaching—it’s about mentorship, inspiration, and building confidence in students to help them think critically and solve real-world problems.
Actividades & Turnos
Teach STEM subjects (basic coding, robotics, math, science experiments, engineering concepts) in schools and community centers.
-Organize hands-on activities and science workshops using locally available materials.
-Mentor students, especially girls, encouraging them to explore STEM careers.
-Train local teachers on interactive STEM teaching techniques.
- Support after-school STEM clubs and help set up STEM learning resources.
- Engage in community outreach to promote STEM education in Mwanza.
Reglas
1. Do NOT give money to children under any circumstances, even if they ask for it.
2. Do NOT give gifts unless they are meant for all the children. If you give a gift, please leave it in the designated project area and make sure it is clear to everyone.
3. Do NOT provide sweets, except when you are leaving (as a goodbye gesture) or if it is someone's birthday or a special celebration.
NOTE: Volunteers are expected to contribute to the cost of their accommodation upon arrival. The fee can be paid weekly or monthly, depending on the prior arrangement made. Additionally, volunteers are responsible for their own expenses, including toiletries, laundry services, and any other incidental costs during their stay with host families.
