En lo personal, fue una experiencia muy enriquecedora que disfrute y logre aprovecharla al máximo, la tareas son muy fáciles, te puedes organizar de la mejor manera, el hostal es muy limpio, esta muy bien ubicado ya que tiene accesibilidad a gran parte de las necesidades básicas cerca. Tuve la fortuna de compartir, conocer y mantener una buena comunicación con Kanna dueño del hostal quien me oriento durante mi estadía en la isla, excelente persona, excelente ser humano al igual que su equipo de trabajo.

Mi experiencia fue buena porque ya sabía lo que me iba a encontrar, antes de llegar había buscado información previa. Para futuros voluntarios es bueno que sepas, que los jefes no vienen, solo te comunican todo por wasap. No tienes un intercambio cultural, ni social y te sientes un trabajador. No hay cocina, ni nevera cosa que se necesita para vivir mínimo 2 semanas. Tus tareas son fáciles si hay pocos clientes, si se llena recuerda que el check in y check out y la limpieza del hostel depende de ti. La localización hasta el muelle o la playa cercana 20 minutos caminando.

Las tareas son muy fáciles y asequibles. El horario es flexible por lo que puedes organizarte el día como te parezca, y eso es un muy buen punto. El anfitrión está disponible para ayudarte más allá del voluntariado, por ejemplo, nos ayudó a alquilar una moto a buen precio. Sin embargo, estuvimos completamente solos la mayoría de días en el hostel, por lo que se hizo aburrido por momentos. El anfitrión no estuvo físicamente presente la mayoría de tiempo (nos comunicábamos por WhatsApp), y nos sentimos más bien unos trabajadores que un intercambio (cultural, social, de experiencias).

I had the best time volunteering at this beautiful hostel. The host was super kind and understanding and was willing to help me navigate the Island. The Island itself is very beautiful and so are the people. I met a lot of travellers from all over the world and made many friends. I would 100 percent volunteer with the Hostel again.

Viollette was with us for almost a month, she's a fast learner and managed the hostel well. She's also independent and handle our in house well with manner and respect.

First the island seemed small and but soon we discovered many things to do: beaches, jungle treking, fishing squid etc with the local fishermen, feeding hornbills, driving around with a scooter and other fun stuff. All our days were filled with happy locals who became our friends really fast. Our host was very caring and always there for us when needed. He explained exactly what we needed to do and was very flexible. We also went out for food a couple of times and had fun conversations! As for the tasks we basically had to clean and check the guests in and out. Favourite place in Malaysia!

So, i initially was meant to stay for 4 weeks but as soon as i got there i changed my stay to two weeks, part was because of the owners, and the other part was because of the island. when i got there no one was there to welcome me in, i was waiting for maybe 20 minutes for someone to open the door open for me. and through out my stay no one really explained me what i was meant to do or how. there was no communication from the owners, when people came in a lot of the times i would have to call them because i didn't know where to put the guests, most of the time. it wasn't what i expected.

Well, first of all we accepted your request for 4 weeks so that we can arrange some activities accordingly, but your last minute change to stay only for 2 weeks makes us stumbled upon our plannings, hope a advance notice before your arrival would make other host be prepared as well. Anyway wishing you have a safe journey...

Our stay at the hostel was very good. We were comfortable there, but it's true that they need a refrigerator and even a stove, but we were able to manage because we were only there for 15 days. The work was good for us because we're a couple with experience in this field. We also had time to work on our travel project, although that meant we didn't get to see the island as much, which is very beautiful. We'd like to thank Kanna for the wonderful experience she gave us by taking us on a fishing boat. Thank you so much, the hostel, thank you Bern and Kanna. Dreaming Around the World

We really enjoyed our time at the hostel on the hostel. Although we never got to meet Bern (the host) due to him being on the mainland, his brother Kanna (Co owner/ hostel manager) was brilliant. The tasks that we were required to complete were nice and easy, our schedule was flexible which left lots of time for relaxing and exploring the island. Our only criticism about our experience was the lack of organisation, sometimes guests would just appear and we had no idea they were coming or what accommodation they had booked.

Foi excelente por que eu realmente precisava de paz e tranquilidade. A Ilha é bem pequena e o hostel está muito bem localizado para que tenha uma imersão com os locais. Porém não tinha muito trabalho a ser feito e vimos o anfitrião poucas vezes. Descansamos muito e aproveitamos a ilha sem muitas obrigações e intercâmbios profundos

A ilha é linda, cheia de vida e cultura, mas pode ser parada dependendo do que você busca. Eu e meu marido ficamos 2 semanas, foi bacana. Kanna nos recebeu e explicou tudo de forma objetiva, mas estava ocupado e tivemos pouco contato com ele. As instalações foram como esperado e o trabalho bem leve, fizemos até menos do que o combinado. Iniciamos um projeto para o hostel, mas não concluímos. Indico para quem busca tranquilidade, mas não para quem quer agito ou fazer amizades.
