No pude finalizar la experiencia por un motivo de peso pero el anfitrión me ayudó en todo lo que estaba en su mano y me llevaron en coche hasta el aeropuerto. No tengo ninguna queja. Lo volvería a hacer.

I spent one month at the camping and I recommend it! You sleep in a comfy cabin (mattress + mosquito net, no tent). Work is simple (around 20h/week), mostly helping to carry things on a bamboo project or blow leaves on the camping, but you can also start your own with the available materials, free rain. The atmosphere is calm and kind (maybe deserve a little more fun), food is simple but tasty. Artus, the coordinator, visits weekly and is very responsive on phone. the camping is 1h from KL by bus/train, no scooters. Perfect for a peaceful stay in nature.

Peaceful and inspiring experience!” Volunteering at the camping was amazing. The place is calm and full of natural beauty. The host was kind and made me feel welcome. I learned a lot, met great people, and left feeling refreshed and grateful.

I had a great experience at the camping. Artus and his team are very knowledgeable and skilled craftsmen. The projects Artus has planned provide a unique opportunity to learn about the potential of bamboo as a building material. While I don't think prior experience in construction is necessary, be prepared to do physical work in the humid Malaysian climate, which can be quite intense over time. Since this project takes place at a campsite, so you will be surrounded by nature and its inhabitants (e.g., insects, ants, etc.), even in the sanitary facilities. Thank you Artus and Agus!

I stayed less than a week at the camping. I believe I arrived at a quiet time, as I was supposed to help with construction, but there wasn't much going on. I ended up cleaning algae stains from bamboo— I was ok with this task even though it's different from the work description. I chose to shorten my stay as I was mainly looking for a more physically active environment. Also, seeing animals in cages made me feel uneasy, and over time I became a bit uncomfortable. That said, everyone seeks different things, and I'd recommend this place to anyone open to a variety of tasks.

The overall experience was extremely lacking particularly for me as a woman. i was supposed to help the caretaker to maintain the campsite but was always met with an abrupt no when i tried to help. The owner showed very limited communication skills and i had to figure out my own work for the most part. The animals on the property are extremely neglected and i tried my best to better their circumstances but the owner doesn't really care. i felt unsafe a lot of the time especially having to cross the campground at night to go to the toilet. The owner's responses to reviews are empty promises

at our best we have dedicated a room for lady so that you would have your privacy where the man are on share dorm. As the Long house is under construction, once completed there are washroom facilities that are closer to the volunteers stay..

do understand your unsafe feeling. I do agreed on your request to leave early instead of a month to 2 weeks..

It's an interesting project in a stunning location with great volunteers, and we enjoyed our time there. However, the organization needs improvement. Artus's communication is lacking, and I often felt like a worker rather than a volunteer, even outside work hours. Food reservations need better management, as he's often absent, and the work is tough. The water system is flawed—boiled water stored in plastic containers. Lastly, the treatment of the animals is deplorable and must be addressed.

hi Javier, thank you for your note. shall made improvement for the volunteer program.. the water were boil, cold overnight then store in the large plastic container.. we adopted those animals with proper space for them.. just unfortunate could not let them roam freely in the forest area especially the cats. and not appropriate for muslim campers to have dogs roam freely in the campsite..

I had a wonderful experience at this volunteering! Being surrounded by nature made it even more special. The location by the river was absolutely stunning, and the time spent with the other volunteers was incredible, we formed a great team. A big thank you to Artus for welcoming us and for the opportunity to grow. The only small downside was that sometimes we didn't have enough food when he was away, even though I understand that feeding five men can be quite a task. Totally recommend for a get away in the nature. Thank you guys! 🙏🏼
