Assist our Ranch horses to help humans learn.
La experiencia
Our ranch requires assistance with our horses helping humans become better people. There is a natural connection that brings horses and humans together. Our horse herd requires horse caretakers to ensure these intelligent creatures have all their needs met. Volunteers will also experience the grounding power of the horses. Our helpers will help with feeding and assist with horse care and experiential learning situations.

Programa detallado
Winning Ways has been offering the opportunity to live and learn on a Western Canadian ranch, for many years. This educational opportunity is not a paid position, but room and board are provided.
Winning Ways provides learners with mentoring to develop technical skills and knowledge as well as attitudes and behaviours that result in compassionate ethics and improved performance.
Volunteers are given the opportunity to experience equestrianship and various aspects of ranching. Helpers work 5-6 hours per day for practical hands-on learning; this will be variable according to the weather and season with a minimum of 30 hrs/wk.
Additionally, provision is made for learners to improve English as a second language.
Actividades & Turnos
Volunteers help with the feeding of special diets for senior or special needs horses. Horses are not stabled at Winning Ways and live in herds out in paddocks. Horses require inspection daily and some will require different forms of exercise given by the helpers. Horses must be caught or brought in and prepared when clients are expected. Infrastructure maintenance and cleaning of the yard and riding areas is also required.
Reglas
Rules generally pertain to safety concerns for both humans and horses. These rules are available in “Winning Ways Policy Handbook for Volunteers,” that is available upon arrival at the Ranch.
