Working at the host Lab was awesome! It was my very first volunteering experience and it exceeded all my expectations. Working with the team of volunteers was really great, they are all amazing and we got along so well :) John, the coordinator of the place, was always so nice and respectful and did his absolute best to make us feel welcomed and at home. There were never any problems about the working hours or other agreements as they were always respected. The nature was beautiful and I could fulfill my dream of seeing northern lights there:) I would definitely recommend staying here!

The other volunteers were great people. I replied to a post that mentioned Content Writing & Social Media Management. The director said there was other work to be done too. Almost all tasks were landscaping. There was little opportunity to do what the original post mentioned. I discussed with the host, but didn't feel like the agreement was being respected. It seemed like false advertising. I felt like the site manager was a temperamental man who regularly insults and swears at volunteers. I found this unacceptable. I called him out on his behavior and he accused me of causing the issue.

The Place is very interesting, there are a lot of positive sides that could be explained, Unfortunately, the experience wasn't the best for me, I honestly tried to take the best out of the situation, but the Negative exceeded my possibilities, Communication about boundaries felt useless, John (Manager) seems to deal with difficult wounds that show up as aggressive explosions and sexually aggressive "jokes" and physical approaches. Since the beggining it was very hard to fullfil expectations while being constantly screamed at. I couldn't give my best under those conditions, I'm sorry.

Thanks again for being with us.
As we both know, not everyone fits perfectly in every situation — that’s just a part of life. What doesn’t work in one place might be a perfect fit somewhere else or with someone else - John is deeply appreciated by many other volunteers, artists, and collaborators.
We gave you 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ because we believe in seeing the best in people. There’s often too much focus on negativity and judgment of others, but we strive to see the positive and possibilities instead.

It was one of the best life experiences I've ever had! The village is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by nature at its finest. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights several times, which was a unique and unforgettable moment. The space where we stayed had all the necessary comforts for a perfect stay. It's also a place filled with art, adding a very special touch. The team was super hospitable, always ready to help us and make us feel at home. I learned so much about Sweden and Sami culture, an experience I will always carry with me.

Such a wonderful experience! The place is beautiful, with a lot of lakes nearby and wonderful nature. Due to being in a place not close to big cities, the light pollution is little and allows to see some beautiful northern lights! (if the weather is not cloudy, of course). It is an inspiring place, very comfortable to live in, and I had the pleasure of also meeting incredible people and create many memories that will last forever. Hopefully in the future we will cross paths again, thank you for everything!

One of my best experiences! The place is very nice and perfect for watching the northern lights. Although it's a small community, there are nearby parks and islands for walking. Plus, the accommodation is right next to a lake, which adds a special charm. You can explore both nature and local culture here. I'll be glad to go back in the near future.

The actual host is only somewhat connected to the project, usually just telling a local coordinator what needs to be done. This coordinator fails to communicate and lacks respect for volunteers, while also displaying inappropriate behavior. Apart from this, work hours are not respected at all, no matter what agreements are made, and off-days are usually shunned, so you're expected to work 24/7 and on-call. the host itself is fairly nice, close to nature, but also remote, so it's difficult to make plans without getting the coordinator involved.

A s a female traveler, I felt unsafe and disrespected during my stay. The volunteers coordinator's (male, 70 y/o) inappropriate behavior made me uncomfortable, and the lack of communication from the host left me and fellow volunteers unsure about everything. The host threatening with “no more food” while we were performing physically demanding tasks far from what was agreed upon only added to my distress. This experience left me feeling disrespected and vulnerable, and I hope future volunteers, especially women, are met with better communication, respect, and safety measures.
