I really enjoyed my time with ACOTPRO, the locals and staff were friendly although there was a language barrier with some of the leaders as they only spoke Spanish but they were polite and respectful. The leaders made sure we were included when it came to actually seeing and handling baby turtles, mothering turtles and eggs and even said they would wake us if any were to hatch whilst we were asleep. I did find that some of the volunteer leaders weren't as experienced as I thought but if any problems were to arise I know they would of be sorted asap. Overall great experience and I loved it :)

I had an amazing time at ACOTPRO! Everyone is super friendly and trying their best to make it a great experience for you. I will say that if you speak some Spanish you should really try and use it to communicate with the staff. It'll make your experience a thousand times better and they are very patient with whatever level you start with. They are also very open to hearing your ideas and learning from you as well. I truly felt like my help was appreciated. I will 100% come again. :)

This was my first volunteer experience and I could not be more happy with the experience. The hosts were so friendly and treated us like family and even though I only stayed a week, I shed a tear leaving by the end. Not only did I realize the environmental impact we made, but I was so immersed in the Costa Rican culture which was my absolute favorite part. The hours were pretty short and we only worked Monday-Friday and got the weekend off. If you are ok with simple living and want an experience with the locals I recommend this 100/10, just keep in mind they speak all Spanish!

I had an amazing time working with ACOTPRO; everyone was so warm and welcoming. I learnt a lot about sea turtle conservation and the threats they face. Night patrols were exciting and I was lucky enough to see a turtle nest slightly out of season which was incredible! It was one of the best experiences I've had and I will miss the people I met!

I had an awesome time staying at acotpro! I was immersed in nature and the local culture and was about to spend a lot of time by myself and with volunteers of other projects! The people here are nothing short of amazing and were so welcoming and kind:) I'd definitely recommend knowing a bit of spanish as everyone there speaks it. The camp itself is offgrid and a very simple place to live: power two hours a day and cold showers but because it's so humid, i didn't mind them. The workload was very fair and i didn't work more than 3 hours a day. Overall, i'd recommend staying at acotpro!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at ACOTPRO! Alba and Manuel are some of the nicest people I've met, they inform you on everything you can do there and help arrange any transportation. They also make sure you arrive and depart safely! They cook the most delicious meals, and we even made some treats together! They have tons of fun activities to do! I really enjoyed every single day I spent there so much! The volunteer work is also a lot of fun and not difficult, very rewarding! Lots of spare time to relax or go out and have fun! Thank you so much, I had an amazing stay!

We had a really great time at acotpro, it's such a paradise! There were a lot of other volunteers, the beach is beautiful, and we saw so many cool animals around. However, it did kind of feel like a money machine as we paid 26$ a day (22$ if you book through workaway) and it was definitely not cost-covering as we mostly ate rice and beans. We also had to pay for meals we didn't consume. Regarding the work, we didn't really feel needed so overall it felt more like a summer camp. Besides that, it was a great experience in a beautiful place!

It was super fun a once in a life time experience for sure! Throughout the week I've learn alot. Something that I thought could used a bit of working on tho was communicating because we didn't have any training or told what to do prior it was just kind of learn on the job and hope your doing the right thing kind of situation, by the end of the week we had a general idea as what to do from asking different people we met but it would have still been nice to be told from day one. Other then that it was super fun and a great way to help the turtles
