The place is absolutely stunning, and I got to enjoy beautiful sunsets every evening. Since it wasn't turtle season, my tasks varied between gardening, cleaning the beach, and maintaining the accommodation. However, I was still lucky enough to see some baby turtles! The hosts were always available to offer advice and help us find information. They also organized affordable canoe trips through the nearby mangrove, which was a great experience. Spending these two weeks with other Worldpackers was amazing—we went on great hikes and shared unforgettable moments together.

I stayed for two weeks volunteering with ACOTPRO and it was a very good experience. Alba and Manuel were great, always available to answer our questions ! I learned many things about sea turtles and conservation. I really enjoyed the meals. The environment was beautiful, and the experience allowed me to connect with nature and meet wonderful people. I highly recommend this volunteering opportunity to anyone interested in conservation!

I stayed at ACOTPRO for 4 weeks and I had the most incredible experience!! I can't recommend this volunteering experience enough! I met so many amazing people while staying there, both local and other international travellers. This was my first time solo travelling and the hosts made it so easy to plan excursions and helped with any questions or queries I had. The entire team is so friendly and the experience is exactly as described. Would love to go back in the future 🫶🏻

I really loved the experience, I made really good friends and released many baby turtles! The only downside side is the fact that I volunteered in the end of November-December which meant the nesting season was over. Just keep that in mind if you expect to see nesting turtles and go on night patrols… We only worked when turtles were hatched and we had most of the time free to explore and chill! I was expecting a bit mor work but I still loved the experience!!

This experience was really amazing, what made it amazing was the hosts. Alba and Manuel made me feel so welcomed and they were so kind, informative and just a joy to be around! They taught me so much about sea turtles and helped me realize what I need to do to protect them. I didn't really know what I was getting myself into when I signed up for this program, but I really enjoyed my time there and I learnt a lot more than I thought I was going to!!! Definitely recommend.

Acotpro is a beautiful place, and the project behind the association is truly inspiring. However, we did experience a few issues during our stay. On our last day, the person who was supposed to cook for us never showed up. Additionally, we received very little information about what was expected of us, which made the experience a bit confusing sometimes.

L'esperienza in se alla fine non é stata male ma di certo non quello che mi aspettavo leggendo le recensioni. Il posto é meraviglioso circondato da natura fantastica e solo per questo ne é valso il viaggio. Mi aspettavo di meglio dal progetto però. Mi sono sentita spesso abbandonata a me stessa senza un vero coinvolgimento da parte dello staff del progetto. Al di fuori delle attività notturne di controllo della spiaggia che duravano comunque 2 o 3 ore, la maggior parte del tempo eravamo liberi ma anche soli. Credo che ci sono conflitti interni che non rendono piacevole l'esperienza dei volont

This has been a really nice experience, the place is wild, beautiful, just in front of the beach that you will have for yourself! The team is nice and gave us a lot a freedom and independance. The cooker was amazing, we really enjoyed her food. The working hours were in the morning for us (december so hatching season) and it was pretty chill, not too hard at this time, we got to release the baby turtles but haven't seen the big ones. It's important to make sure to read the tasks that can be very different depending on the turtle season. I recommand this misson if you want to relax! Thanks

Volunteering at ACOTPRO was the best experience ! Learning about turtles, living in the most wonderful place across the ocean and the jungle, meeting the members of the association and making friends with the others volunteers was incredible. Delicious food always, chill work and lots of time to relax and explore around. I would recommend this experience to everyone! Thank you Alba, Manuel, and everyone from ACOTPRO (and Bebe and Tormenta) for making it the most amazing experience.

I had a wonderful experience with ACOTPRO! Everthying was as expected, the hosts were very friendly and helped with anything you might need. Releasing the turtles was a unique expierence, but learning about turtles has also been very interesting and helped to better understand the importance of protecting the sea/sea turtles and raising awareness towards nature. Although the weather wasn't the best, spending time with the other volunteers has led to many beautiful memories and friendships. As a small advice, knowing Spanish helps you a lot to communicate with the host and the local people :)
