I had a wonderful experience at the monastery. All the monks were incredibly welcoming and kind, creating a warm and peaceful atmosphere. During my stay, I followed part of their daily routine, participating in various events and meditations. We also had many interesting talks about buddhism. Whenever you have any need they are very accommodating of it. I can recommend this place to anyone looking to immerse themselves in authentic Sri Lankan culture, beyond the usual tourist trail.

It was great experience if you want to practise meditation and get to know more about Buddism and Sri Lankan culture. Also you get the chance to meet a lot of great people. They made me feel so welcome.

Volunteering here has been an amazing experience! The house is very beautiful and the family is friendly, the tasks at the temple are fun (especially Sunday school with the children) and the host filled the whole day up with different activities to engage with locals and learn about buddhism. The food is tasty and they give you all the food you want (and more haha). I 100% recommend this experience!

This was a really lovely experience. The family welcomed me with open arms and provided a lovely place to stay alongside some delicious foods. The animals (dogs, cats and cows) wer also a bonus! Bante the monk was amazing in showing us all across Sri Lanka, different temples and Sri Lankan culture. He also showed us how to practise meditation - this experience is mostly following the monk around to his various activities - for example one day we went to a disabled school to see the children there and one day we went to the south coast and stayed in a hotel! Everyone is so friendly! Thank you
