I stayed around one month here , Takamatsu is a very calm and small city but you can find whatever you want, I enjoyed here , I used sometimes the kitchen, the kitchen has everything to cook and there is a big Market , I was cooking mostly so I felt like my house and also the chef's foods were very nice. Chizuru and other Japanese worker were really polite and kind , that's why I get very comfortable : I recommend here , I am happy with here :)

I had a great time at the hostel! Chizuru is an amazing host and it was really fun to go out with her. Work hours are well respected and the staff are really nice and always help with questions. We couldn't use the kitchen from 6-10 am and in the evenings, but that wasn't a problem for me as I had a simple breakfast and in the evening we got a great discount on the chef's dinner if we did the dishes afterwards. The only downside is, that it can sometimes take quite a while to do the dishes if there are many guests. But the food is amazing, I would definitely recommend it. Thanks Ryo and Chizuru!

I highly recommend the hostel to other prospective volunteers! It's the perfect place to practice Japanese, eat local food, and meet other travellers. But above all, it's the 思いやり from all the people here that really makes this place special. Thank you Chizuru-san, Ryo-san, and everyone else! Pro tip: Read 'Kafka on the Shore' by Haruki Murakami while you're here, it's largely set in Takamatsu!

This is my fourth World Packers, and I really really enjoyed my stay here! To be honest, if your looking for one of those World Packers where you try to hit a ton of tourist spots, and do crazy hikes in the morning or party's in the afternoon…you may find sleep and chillin downstairs as a closer option. But if you look you'll find some cool things, experiencing a realer life in Japan and meeting amazing people. The hosts are super kind and the system around their work is really good too.

I enjoyed a lot my volunteering in the hostel. All the staff is very kind. You can feel a family atmosphere once you come in. Chizurusan is the nicest, helpful and perfect host. She is always including you in the hostel's parties, introducing you to Japanese culture, giving you tips to explore Takamatsu and many more things. She makes your stay easy and unforgettable. The work is pretty easy. Basically is cleaning the hostel (making beds, laundry, cleaning bathrooms…). Everything is well explained. Have plenty of free time. Thank you for everything, you have a friend and home in Spain.

The hostel was great! Friendly and fun staff and other volunteers. The schedule is nice for exploring the surrounding area, 4 days on, 3 in a row off. There's lots to do close to takamatsu, but Takamatsu is pretty quiet. All the staff were fun and kind! They took us volunteers out to the local sites and had wonderful suggestions. It's a 60 bed hostel so it can be busy —bed making, washroom cleaning, laundry, and other cleaning tasks. Single volunteers shared a 4 person bed bed room. They accept couples and they would receive their own private room. Dinner was oishii and available at a discount.

I really liked my stay in the hostel! I met so many nice people and i really felt seen and appreciated. The work is easy, the hostel is clean and you have your own room/bathroom for the volunteers. You can use the washing machine and the kitchen (but not in the morning and evening when the chef is there). But you can also eat the chefs dishes for a little amount of money which is really worthy!! I can recommend it to everyone! Things they could improve is giving the volunteers more direct instructions in person. And sometimes I felt that some of the staff wouldn't work as hard as the volunteers.

Overall, I had a really great time at the hostel in Takamatsu. The staff are all very friendly and always up for a little chat. Volunteers get their own private room, and in the evening, you can get a discount on food if you help with the dishwashing. The food is delicious, affordable, and a great way to try Japanese cuisine. I worked in Takamatsu for four weeks, and in hindsight, that might have been a bit too long—toward the end, it got a little boring since I had already seen most of the sights and there aren't too many attractions here. That being said, it's definitely a nice place.

I've stayed in the hostel for 3 weeks and my time flew by so fast. The host and staff are friendly and always happy to help with any of your questions. The work is very easy and the working hours are respected. I couldn't wish for a better start on Worldpackers.
