Help with hostel needed!

Mi experiencia en Bruselas fue hermosa! la pase muy bien, me divertí un montón, conecte muy bien con los otros voluntarios... Las tareas son muy fáciles de hacer y los horarios de trabajo son cortos, así que tuve mucho tiempo libre para conocer la ciudad e incluso ir a otras ciudades cercanas. Los niños son adorables y Ioana una gran anfitriona desde el principio fue muy clara con las tareas que debía realizar y se cumplió perfectamente, siempre estuvo atenta a todo lo que pudiera necesitar y a hacerme sentir cómoda. Solo tengo palabras de agradecimiento! Muchas gracias por todo :)

¡La experiencia fue muy enriquecedora! Ioanna siempre te hace sentir bienvenido en su hogar. Cuidar a los niños no se debe tomar a la ligera ya que implica una gran responsabilidad, además requiere de mucha paciencia y empatía, una vez que entiendes sus gustos e intereses, atenderlos y pasar tiempo con ellos es más fácil. Nos comunicamos con ellos en inglés y también nos enseñaron unas cuantas palabras en griego. Mi estancia fue en pareja y juntos, aún recordamos a Leónidas y Achilleas en nuestra vida diaria, dejaron una huella significativa en nuestros corazones :D

La mamá es muy buena y te hace sentir bienvenido. Los niños son muy lindos y fáciles de cuidar pero requiere de mucha paciencia. Aunque si me decepcionó que si bien sabía que la habitación era compartida no es en el mejor estado, la cama hacía mucho ruido por lo cual era imposible de dormir. En toda tu estadía no tenes mucha privacidad. Yo estuve solo 3 días.

Fue una gran experiencia, Ioanna es una persona maravillosa, pude conectar muy bien con Achilleas y Leonidas. Las tareas son sencillas pero requieren paciencia.

Ioanna es una persona amable y flexible con los tiempos, una de las mejores host que he tenido hasta el momento, cuidar de los niños no debe tomarse a la ligera es una gran responsabilidad, sin duda alguna recomendaría este voluntariado, mis mejores deseos para ioanna y los niños 🌟

The boys are sweet, funny, and full of energy, it was fun during play time, however, they were easily angered during their bed time routine often ignoring me completely. I have experience with childcare but perhaps not enough for this position. I spent more time in the hostel which is a 2 hour task cleaning and changing sheets of up to 8 beds, but the shared space means you will be a part of the bedtime routine either way. Overall, Ioanna is a great host and gave many recommendations for things to do, cooked delicious meals, respected the schedule, and her communication was top tier.

Ioanna is a very kind and open host. The housekeeping work is very easy and chill. I made good friends and had a lot of time to visit Brussels. The only thing I'd you don't like kids, this is not for you. They can definitely be a handful sometimes, but if you like kids they can also be great and I got very attach to them by the end. Also you are sleeping in the same room as the kids and the other volunteer so you must be able to communicate your needs well. If you're fine with that then I would recommend this experience for sure!

I had a really wonderful experience volunteering. Ioanna is very welcoming and the boys are adorable. It was also a great opportunity to practice English and definitely to become more mentally flexible, as it's a home where you feel a little piece of the world in everything 💖 thank you for everything!

I had a great time during my stay here. The work was fair, mostly in charge of cleaning around the hostel and changing the bedding. In exchange for the few hours of work Volunteers are given a breakfast meal (sometimes even dinner) and a bed in a shared dorm. The location is great to explore Brussels and close to the train station to explore the rest of Belgium. The communication with the host was good and an overall positive experience.

It was a wonderful experience!! Ioanna is an excellent host, always attentive and making sure you're comfortable. She cooks delicious food, and as a vegetarian, I had everything I needed. She's kind, flexible, and really fun! The kids are adorable and smart; I really enjoyed taking care of them. They already have a routine, so it's easy to manage and keep them well. The hostel tasks are clear, simple, and only take a few hours a day, leaving plenty of free time to explore, meet people, and travel. I also made really good friendship with the other volunteers there. 100% recommended!
