I had a great time at the hostel! The hostel is quiet and close to the beach and train station. Working hours are respected, tasks are simple, and the manager is flexible and supportive. Sometimes it was challenging with Portuguese-speaking guests, but the team helped a lot, and I managed well with international guests. I loved meeting people from all over the world, sharing fun moments with the team and guests and practicing languages. In my free time I could explore Lisbon or relax at the beach, while on my days off I could travel to farther places. I truly recommend this experience 🫶🏻

Voluntariar na vila o hostel foi uma experiencia incrivel, vitor e ze sao otimos anfitrioes, muito divertidos e muito flexiveis. Quero voltar com certeza!! Carcavelos, eh muito bonito, o hostel fica perto do metro e tem muita coisa pra fazer aos arredores. Recomendo :)

Se voluntariar no the hostel realmente foi uma experiência muito boa, consegui praticar meu inglês, os momentos de trabalho não são nada difíceis, a gerente Carol é muito querida, sempre muito flexível com horário dos turnos e sempre bem parceira dos voluntários, e José também é um ótimo anfitrião! Com certeza recomendo para outras pessoas se voluntariar com eles!

Anfitrião José é um cara bacana e amigável, o horário dos turnos sempre são de acordo como você precisa, voluntários legais, lugar totalmente bacana, me diverti muito aqui, super indico para os próximos viajantes!

Chegou ao fim meu voluntariado no hostel e uma certeza é que ficaram muitas saudades, pude viver momentos incríveis ao lado de pessoas incríveis que fizeram minha viagem ser ainda mais especial. O hostel sempre foi super atencioso comigo, me ajudando nos horários que eu precisava e até mesmo me dando folgas a mais, sempre gentis e com muita atenção e cuidado comigo. Queria deixa um agradecimento em especial a Carol (gerente) e ao José (proprietário) que facilitaram em tudo até mesmo extendendo meu voluntario por mais alguns dias, muito obrigada por esses momentos incríveis.

It says that they want English speakers but majority of the guests and team only speak Portuguese or very limited English. My time was just hard due to language barrier, not all guests wanted to use google translate with me which lead to them being annoyed that I didn't speak Portuguese, a guest (man) had handcuffs in his bed that he asked a woman team member to change his sheets, there's another guest that's racists who practically lives there (if you disagree with him then he gets into your face to try to scare you), most guests live there full time which is a bit uncomfortable.

Good location, Vitor lovely and positive, other volunteers really made this experience for us! Tasks were easy, shifts were flexible. BUT, we would not recommend this experience to a solo female traveller. Most of the guests are older men and a few unusual characters living in the hostel permanently which led to several uncomfortable situations. We questioned our safety a few times. Sadly, there is no manager onsite so you are expected to rely on other volunteers if issues arise. No window in the volunteers room is a shame. Come prepared with google translate if you're English speaking.

A experiência no hostel não foi exatamente o que eu esperava, aliás foi muito diferente de outros voluntariados por onde passei via Wordpekers, acredito que o anfitrião viu no wordpekers uma forma de economizar com funcionários, tendo em vista que o mesmo não faz a menor questão de interação com os voluntários, existe um "Gerente" que também já foi um voluntário Wordpekers lá a alguns meses, porém, esse "Gerente" raramente está no hostel e ao menos sabe do que se passa por lá, os turnos são respeitados, mas como não há ninguém que responda pelo local, toda a responsa fica para o volunter
