Mi experiencia en el hostel ha sido perfecta, no podría haber sido mejor. El equipo de trabajadores se siente como una familia, siempre te ayudan en lo que pueden . Rowan, Nick y Anuska son súper cercanos. Éramos 8 voluntarios, de los cuales 6 éramos españoles. Todos nos hicimos amigos y hacíamos planes por la ciudad. También visité varias ciudades de Holanda, simplemente espectacular. Yo hacía el Night Shift, el trabajo es súper sencillo y ligero, las horas fueron las acordadas siempre y son muy flexibles si necesitas algun cambio. Me siento muy agradecida, volveré pronto. Experiencia increíble! Anfitriona y compañeros maravillosos! Dispuestos a ayudarte con lo que sea, además la ciudad es preciosa y tanto el hostel como el hostel son increíbles y el ambiente es muy guay! Tanto la comida como las instalaciones están muy bien y también te dejan bicis para darte una vuelta cuando quieras. Son pocas horas de trabajo y se hace muy ameno ya que cualquier duda que tengas, te van a ayudar. Lo mejor que me llevo son a los voluntarios, muy buen grupo! Bennie es adorable:) Volvería a repetir!

El hostel está genial, las instalaciones y el trabajo son muy buenos, pero lo mejor sin duda son los trabajadores tanto del hostel como del hostel, son jóvenes y muy atentos contigo, te ayudan en todo lo que pueden y hacen que tú esta día sea la mejor. Los turnos de trabajo están muy bien, no son muchas horas y el trabajo no es muy duro. Además, tienes dos comidas al día que están muy buenas y que te preparan en el momento. Ya echo de menos el hostel y el hostel Bennies!!!

Unfortunately, my volunteering experience at BENNIES Hostel was deeply affected by unfair management practices, lack of accountability, and serious issues around respect and safety. One of the main problems was the behavior of management/supervision. On multiple occasions, the supervisor entered the volunteers' room without proper consideration and took photos of personal spaces, sometimes while volunteers were asleep after working night shifts. These photos were then posted in the main hostel WhatsApp group. Meanwhile other volunteers just left during their nightshift to party, haha.

Hi Mika, we had a private meeting to evaluate your time here at De Basis, giving you an opportunity to raise any issues with us in person, but we haven't heard about these problems until now.
In terms of the room inspections, prior notice was always given through a WhatsApp message indicating what time the receptionist was going to check the room, and photos were never taken of volunteers sleeping but only of the messes that needed to be cleaned.
This 1 star review feels quite unreasonable.

I had a great time in Zwolle. The Host and the people in general were so lovely. The tasks were as agreed on. The provided food was amazing. Zwolle in general is a very small but lovely city. Especially the nightlife is quite fun. Gonna miss everyone and can't wait to be back. Would definitely recommend it!

Our stay at Bennies and the hostel was great! We met a lot of new people within our short stay. The work was always as agreed, most days even less and especially the breakfast was very good! Everyone around was nice and helpful. When we wanted to change shifts or our day to leave it was never in problem. All in all we had a good, but sadly short time and would love to come back one day!💛

The hostel became another kind of family during my stay here. Everyone is so kind, the work is well organized and easy to understand, and the friends I have made along the way are just an added bonus. Zwolle is a great city if you are looking for something young, international, student friendly. It's not too small a city or to large, and serves as a great central point to travel from on your days off. I will be coming back:)

My experience in Zwolle was absolutely amazing! I immediately felt welcomed and taken care of. Everyone was super nice! I got to know about the work beforehand and everything was well-organized. The work was nice and I had a lot of free time to explore Zwolle, which is such a cute and beautiful city! The voluteers room was big and the whole hostel was great. If I ever get the chance, I would love to come here again and I would definitely recommend this experience! Thank you for everything!

My experience at the hostel went so well! The team was amazing. I felt welcomed and comfortable right away. The place is perfect for a stay. The work isn't hard at all, and the schedule gives you plenty of free time on the side. I'm super happy with my experience and I totally recommend it!! Big thanks to the whole team.
