Poder vivir esta experiencia ha sido un verdadero reto en el que he podido sumergirme en la cultura local, conocer sus gentes y aprender sus antiguas tradiciones. El trabajo en equipo ha sido ameno y sobre todo, gratificante. Además, poder hacerlo de la mano de nuestro anfitrión, Carlos, ha sido una vivencia inolvidable. Lo recomiendo sinceramente, tanto por la acogida que hemos recibido, como por la amabilidad de nuestro trato. Me siento muy agradecida de haber formado parte y disfrutado, de este voluntariado que sin duda, recordaré con cariño.

I recommend Carlos! He has a very unique perspective about our country and he'll show you the Portuguese culture as few have the opportunity to. He's a journalist so during the week will probably be more chill for you and on the weekends he'll have more events or interviews to make in many parts of the country. In geral always working hard to make u feel comfortable and have a nice experience. Thank uuuu 🫶🧚‍♀️

This was my first volunteer experience and I absolutely loved it! It's a great place to go if you're looking to connect with nature and spend some time away from the city chaos. Carlos is the most interesting person I've ever met and hanging out with him and Anna was always super fun. I got to experience an authentic portuguese farm life and also explored a lot of cool places around. I also discovered my new fav food - a vegetarian bacalhau! I couldn't recommend going enough. I loved staying here and hope to come back soon!

I had really nice time while staying here. Carlos is very interesting person and has a lot of stories to tell about his job of journalist, Ana is a very sweet and caring. I tried a lot of new Portuguese meals (even vegan Bacalhau ahahah), visited three new towns and spent pleasant time with animals. I had to have make a design for a website and illustrations for a book and for me it was super creative work. I also helped with some house chores. It was a beautiful time far from a big noisy city, with animals, stars and peaceful nature.

Working with Carlos was good. He's is frequently out for work, but he's there to help anyways, as he always tells you can call anytime to ask and get a real hand when he comes back. Working in there was good, but in the countryside doing physical work is part of everyday chores; so it can be difficult and tiring at start for those who are not (so if you're not proactive or don't want to strive physically, better go elsewhere). I'm writing all of this to give a good picture to others, but I had a good time there, as I was used to it from what I do at home, living myself in the countryside

Life-changing experience. Work here is radically different from usual hostel work. You get to get stuck in with wrangling goats, shredding shrubs - working life on a farm. You have to deal with animals inside the house and outside, and be prepared for your life rhythm to accommodate that. Work here is real, raw. The most definitive moment for me was nursing an abandoned goat kid, whom I named Gaby. She taught me about what it means to care for a life. To walk with it from beginning to the end. I'll never forget her.

Minha experiência foi significativa. Tive a oportunidade de participar de eventos culturais e conviver com artistas dos mais diversos níveis — do teatro, da escultura e da música. Para mim, foi um aprendizado imenso, em meio a uma rotina simples e a uma vivência autêntica no ambiente rural. A comida era deliciosa e saudável, direto do produtor, o que tornou a experiência ainda mais rica. Como todo ser humano, sei que sempre temos algo a melhorar. Todo o meu feedback sobre a rotinas foi compartilhado diretamente, e conseguimos nos ajustar muito bem!Por meio de uma comunicação clara e objetiva.

O host, o local e as tarefas não condiziam com o anunciado, o quarto estava em pésimas condições e era necessário caminhar por uns 7 min para ir até o banheiro e cozinha que por sinal também estavam péssimos, tudo sujo e desorganizado, sem estrutura alguma para receber voluntários. Tarefas eram basicamente limpezas pesadas e coisas que ninguém mais queria fazer, as horas não eram contabilizadas e no dia sabíamos oque íamos fazer e até que horas. Às refeições fornecidas eram extremamente básicas e sem horário, se eu quisesse uma sobremesa ou algo além tinha que pagar. Não recomendo!

Lamento profundamente que a tua experiência não tenha sido positiva, Gustavo. Contudo, é importante refletires sobre a tua postura ao longo da estadia. O melhor conselho que te posso dar é que enfrentes oportunidades como esta com mais humildade, menos preguiça e um verdadeiro espírito de entrega.
Enquanto embaixador do teu país, o teu comportamento foi, no mínimo, lamentável. Lamento sinceramente ter-te conhecido. Fica aqui o alerta para futuros anfitriões: estejam atentos ao Gustavo.

I think I had a specific experience here bc Carlos like people to stay for 1 month but he accidentally accepted my 1 week request. It was just me volunteering so I had the room to myself. Since I stayed shortly there was not project and no regular schedule, but I did some work around the farm and cleaning the house, also helped him with his own work as he is a journalist, really nice. The place is isolated but he offers to take you nearby and I asked him to take me to Marvão Castle, which was the best part. Ana is sweet and the dogs are lovely! My stay in Portugal was great, I got the chance to go out and explore local villages and historic castles. The host is a very social person and has a lot of jobs going, this did mean I was left to do my own thing a lot of the time and there was some miscommunication. Carlos has many stories to tell and is great to talk to when he is not busy. There was a generous amount of work to be done and many animals to look after. I met a lovely fellow volunteer from Germany, she was amazing company to work with.
