Absolutely loved my stay at the Center! Beautiful place with beautiful people and plenty of opportunities to attend yoga classes, workshops, go on nature walks, use the steam room and pool etc. Living and working together with the other volunteers you quickly bond with each other and at the end of my stay I really felt like we were one big family <3

This was my 3rd time at the Center and it feels like coming home thanks to Sanjay and Troy! The food is amazing and cleaning up together after meals feels more like a party than work. Housekeeping shifts allow for interesting conversations with people from all over the world. The yoga classes are plentiful in the huge and scenic yoga hall. An extra bonus is the gym and steam room. There are options for both introverts and extroverts to find their place and thrive. I can't say enough good things about the Center and recommend it to anyone looking for an intentional, thoughtful community.

I had a great time at Swamis! The culture is very community based and everyone contributes in different ways to do all of the tasks that the Center needs. The workload depends on the day and what is going on, tasks range from housekeeping, kitchen cleaning, maintenance, cooking, teaching yoga etc. I loved attending the yoga classes during my free time. I also loved being surrounded by nature and going on walks. And the pool is so nice!

I will be back!!! I loved swamis so much! As a first time volunteer I was a little nervous but the beds are so comfy and the meals are delicious. The work is enough to keep you busy but not too much so you get loads of free time to go to classes, use the facilities (pool, gym, steam room) or go for a walk in the bush. The other volunteers really make this place as well, eating together in a communal (and cozy) space alongside working with each other means you form strong bonds with the other vollies. I highly recommend swamis the Center for every kind of volunteer <3

My experience at Swami was unique! I'm so deeply grateful to the amazing people I got in touch with. They were so welcoming and made me feel at home from the very first moment. Shifts are clear and the place is well run. You'll have 4 working days and 1 day off. If you are looking for a place where to reconnect with your self while enjoying the nature and your spare time with other likeminded volunteers, this is definitely your place. Anyway, putting it into words wouldn't do it justice. It's something you need to experience for yourself

I stayed at the Center for 3 weeks and by the end, I was sad to leave - it felt like home. The other volunteers and the regular staff are what made this experience truly memorable, with their kindness and the wonderful conversations. The accommodation and the food were wonderful. It was a real treat to have so much surrounding nature to explore, as well as have the possibility to do yoga, use the gym, spa or pool. I hope to come back some day (maybe sooner than later ;) ).

Nice people overall. If you are going to teach yoga, as opposed to just a straight trade of housecleaning and kitchen duties, make sure you line up expectations with the hosts well in advance. I made the mistake of assuming that there would be robust opportunities for developing my teaching here - and that was not the case. I left after a few days on good terms - just not what I was hoping for. Volunteer quarters are not pictured. Could be a relaxing getaway if you live in the Sydney area, but for an experienced traveler coming a long way, I would pass.

After 2 days at the Center, Patty said I wasn't making enough effort to connect. I explained I needed time to adjust but made an effort afterward & bonded with the group. Things improved until I had a medical emergency requiring surgery. I had 1 prep, 1 surgery, & 1 recovery day. Patty only asked if I'd be back in time to fold sheets. I said I needed a day to recover & she suggested I leave. I called this insensitive, & she removed me from the schedule without notice. Patty was eager to push me out. The workload exceeds five hours daily, often 9:30 AM–6:45 PM, with no WiFi, pest control, or A/C.

Some of Friday’s feedback may be useful for future WorldPackers, though it lacks full context. As we are located in the bush, volunteers should expect some insects, no A/C and limited WiFi (available in public areas). The workload is 5 hrs a day, spread across the day. Unfortunately, Friday did not demonstrate engagement with our community and did not respond to the manager’s message regarding her plans to stay post-root canal. Ultimately, it was not the best match and we wish her the best.

I had an amazing stay at the Center. The team felt like a family and everyone was very welcoming and helpful in teaching you the ropes! After three weeks of the nourishing food, community routine, and living in sync with nature, I went home feeling very grounded and ready to make progress on my personal goals. As a yoga teacher, I was pleased with the teaching opportunities I was given and even taught a few workshops in addition to yoga classes. In short, my experience at the Center was everything I had hoped for and I hope to be back one day!
