It was very good experience to me. Tawan and Hoh took great care of us. I could eat lots of Thai food and even cook them. The place's view is so fantastic. And I could touch and feed elefant too. And there's a Coco, the cutest big white intelligent doggie, who is a very great friend to me. Coco and I took a walk. I was so excited to walk with him. Additionally and luckliy, I stayed with another backpacker girls. Thanks to the girls, I wasn't lonely because of them. Ah, hike and bamboo rafting in raining were so fantastic either. Anyway I'm really missing Coco😂

I had a really great time at the spicy villa. The place is located in the mountains, surrounded by the lodge, so be prepared to bring clothes that can get dirty, because they will. The work is not too hard and some days there's more to do than on others. Tawan cooks the best food and you can learn a lot from him about cooking. My highlight was the hike on Sunday and the elephants (which you visit once and pay extra for, clearly communicated before). I was lucky to stay there with 2 other girls, together we loved playing card games in the evening. Thank you for everything!

Me and my friend knew exactly for what we had applied. A tip for the future volunteer is to be prepared for climbing the stairs a lot. Concerning work, we had various tasks: cleaning rooms for guests, farming and gardening, feeding animals. Our favourite task of the day was helping to cook with Tawan. We chose the option with visiting an elephant sanctuary and we expected a little bit more. We were there for max 35 minutes. We enjoyed hiking to the waterfall with Mo more than the elephant sanctuary. The best time of the day was evening, we played games with staff and we had lots of fun.

Overall it was a great experience. I participated in this project with my friend and we had so much fun. There were various activities for us to do, like gardening (preparing seedbeds and planting), helping with cleaning bungalows for incoming guests, cleaning kitchens and dining areas, feeding animals etc. What we enjoyed the most was cooking diner with Tawan, we had fun and learnt many authentic Thai recipes. The evenings were all about playing games and having fun with the staff. They also took us on a hike to a nearby waterfall, which was great.

I love the place! From the pretty view, to the animals (coco the dog, black and white the cats and the chickens), from the waterfalls, from the elephant sanctuary and from the activities😍 it's a good place to go if you want to be immersed in the Thai culture. I had the chance to go have a drink with some Thai families in the village near by! Also you learn so much about Thai food, you won't need to go da Thai cooking class after that 😉 the only downside is that the manager can get weird at some points with his saying… but even with the hardwork, a week is worth it 💖

The only reason the experience at Spicy Villa wasn't better was because of the host. The manager Bandido was a really good person and always tried to show us the best of the region. But the host Spicy was totally different. The four days he stayed with us were very bad. Several times he was rude to the volunteers, rude to the guests, made up rules every day for no obvious reason and always made the atmosphere very bad. During meals, he arrogantly told us how to eat, that we shouldn't mix our food, etc. So, if you're lucky enough that the host isn't there, I recommend this volunteer.

Hi
The reason we made up the rules because you broke our rules
Example you went to elephant sanctuary without our permission ( it's extremely dangerous) you have no common sense of damger and responsible.

We teach you our culture example eating
We says our culture we don't mixed food while eating ( read what you sent message to us .you said you want to learn something new and different cultures

Please be fare to us
Thanks

We had a great time at Spicy Villa, thanks in large part to the other amazing volunteers we met. The food was fantastic and the accommodation itself was good – it's right in the lodge and really beautiful. At first, our tasks weren't communicated very clearly, and in general, we were sometimes a bit confused about what we were supposed to do. The work itself was okay. Bandito, who was always so warm, funny, and friendly, deserves a lot of credit. He also communicated everything that needed to be done, and when, really well. I can recommend a stay there; it's definitely an experience!

The location is absolutely beautiful, middle of the jungle and you'll hear the waterfall as you're about to fall asleep. The tasks consists mainly of gardening and maintaining the rooms and kitchen at the property. All the locals were super nice, some difficulties with the language barrier but in the end it all worked out🥰

Overall we had a great experience with great food! The first week we were with 7 volunteers and almost no guests. This led to very little work per person... The first days we also did not have any internet (due to a storm some days before). The second week, we were the only once with lots of guest. We therefore had a lot to do. This was much nicer for us. The day we arrived the hot water broke for the rest of our stay We had the great opportunity to work a day in the rice fields along with the local the lodge community which was definitely the highlight of our stay together with seeing elephants.
