I stayed in MV for 2 months. It was a very enriching experience. MV is truly a magical space, there is a lot of healing energy emanating from all sides. Nature here is alive and present for those who have a little sensitivity to feel it. I recommend paying attention to the sound of the wind and birds and taking contemplative walks in the greenery and tones that paint the sky. Healing flows in the air. Richard is a spectacular person. A beautiful soul. All staff were very respectful, kind and understanding. MV is the best place to volunteer, details are just details.

The Center is a truly wonderful place, filled with the most amazing people! From the moment you arrive, you feel welcomed into the Center family, living, working, cooking and eating together. The place itself is a beautiful oasis in the hills near Lagos, complete with temple, sauna and pool that you're able to use when the retreat guests aren't using them. The work is mixed depending on your skills and experience, but everything is well explained and you're always felt valued. I would recommend MV to anyone who enjoys living and working in a community - it's truly fantastic!

This was the perfect 1st international volunteer experience! The staff was extremely kind, respectful, and funny and the other volunteers (around 10) made the trip so enjoyable. There was so much to learn about from the people, nature, food, and garden. I had two fantastic roommates and got a mosquito net for my bed. We had our own shared bathroom. I sauna/cold plunged almost every day and you could drive out to town/beach with the staff car. The staff kitchen was stocked with vegan food, amazing bread, and juices from the program. The work was fair and I worked in the juice kitchen each day.

I felt welcomed by a friendly community to a stunning property. I had the privilege of working in the garden, which was fulfilling and meditative. As a volunteer, I felt appreciated for my work. I felt lucky to have access to the staff car on my days off to go explore (I can now drive stick shift, yay)! I do think, however, communication could improve. I suggest regular meetings with the volunteers and staff to ensure everyone knows what's going on and how the programs work. Also- more communication on how tasks are done and what expectations are. Overall, this was a great learning experience.

This place is amazing! Solid 99% The hosts are welcoming and very friendly (Richard, Karen, Chris, Ed, Debby, Ivan). They're compromised with spirituality, healthy nutrition, and well-being. So, you will learn a lot and have a great time. You can join the Yoga and meditation classes, also use the pool and sauna, and use the staff car to visit beautiful beaches near Lagos. The tasks are easy and it helps a lot they are well explained and distributed every week. Lastly, The volunteers I encountered were phenomenal people! Thank you so much for this experience. A beautiful place with lovely, interesting people. The work was fair and varied (loved making juices!) and tasks were communicated clearly :) You'll have lots of time for connecting with nature and yourself. If you're curious, you can learn a lot about conscious living, holistic wellbeing and practices. This month taught me a lot about myself and I'll carry many insights and experiences with me for life. The great the Center! An amazing spot for Worldpackers. The tasks are fair and relaxed, the property is beautiful and peaceful; you have a pool and a sauna, shared kitchen and living room, and if you're lucky even a staff car you can use in order to explore the various beaches and hikes in the Algarve. You also have morning yoga and evening meditation you can join when not on duty. Most important, the permanent staff is charming and very welcoming. This place is ideal for balancing work, rest, good food, meeting good people and enjoying the nature of Portugal. I had a lovely time and was full of different experiences, the people and the food are very abundant and the work is fair with what you get. I recommend this experience to people who want to have an experience outside the city and those who want to live in a quiet place. The facilitators and the people who work there are very kind and unique to the volunteers. I LOVED the experience there.

There is no other word to describe this experience than AMAZING! I had days of peace, connection with nature and animals, life in community with super kind and loving people and a deep connection with my inner being in this sacred place! Working hours are well respected and activities vary, so we don't get bored of anything. Just gratitude for these special days at this magical retreat with this super sweet staff! ♥️
