I really liked the finca especially gean and veronique who let me felt very welcomed. they always made sure that things are going well. my problem was that the finca is located too far away of the beach and the village thats why I had to end my visit there after a few days. but it's a wonderful experience in nature and I would recommend the finca who love nature.

We stayed at the Finca for almost four weeks and it was a wonderful experience. Me and my boyfriend had our own little house in the middle of the rainforest and even had a kitchen and bathroom all to ourselves. We encountered a lot of animals like monkeys, sloths and toucans on the property and felt very connected to nature. Everybody here was absolutely amazing and made us feel at home. Work was easy and we never had to work more than the agreed upon time, sometimes even less. All in all we had a great time and would totally recommend a stay at La the lodge! Thank you for everything :)

The place here is absolutely beautiful and surrounded by nature. We stayed at a small house in the middle of the jungle and had our own kitchen and bathroom. We could see some monkeys and sloths on the property. The work was easy and the agreed upon hours were well respected. All the people here were very welcoming and sweet. They made us feel at home and also helped us to improve our Spanish skills and even taught us a little French. We absolutely recommend the lodge! We had a great time here and sincerely hope that we can come back one day. Thank you for an amazing stay! :)

I volunteered at the lodge for 3 weeks and it was amazing! It is located right in the jungle, I saw so much nature and different animals! I cleaned, helped take care of the animals and cooked breakfast if we had guests. It honestly felt like my home away from home. The room was spacious and comfortable! The host Gean and I became good friends and he is extremely helpful, kind and funny. Us and the other volunteers would often have dinner together and socialise, which really made the experience better! I would recommend hiring a bike or motorcycle so you can see everything in the area :)

I learned a lot during my stay at the lodge, especially Spanish because everyone else spoke only a little English. I'm so grateful though because I learned very quickly! Gean, the host, was very easy to communicate with and good company. He was very attentive to all my needs and helped me get around whenever and wherever I needed. A great host to have for a first experience. I ended my stay earlier than I had promised but he was more than understanding and okay with it.

Un petit coin de paradis! Au milieu d'une végétation magnifique, parfait pour se relaxer et se connecter à la nature! La maison des volontaires est très confortable et spacieuse. La Finca est excentrée du village et de la plage mais si vous appréciez marcher ou faire du stop pas de soucis. Le travail est facile, principalement le matin et deux jours de permanence dans la semaine. Gean est un Host très sympathique, bienveillant, qui aime partager sa culture, toujours disponible pour aider les volontaires. Je garde un très bon souvenir de cette expérience, les rencontres et les parties de Uno!

My experience at the lodge was, overall, bad and disappointing. I initially had high hopes for my stay, since the host Gean - who pretended to be French and only allowed communication in French (more about this later) - answered my questions well, even though he sometimes took a few days to reply. Yet upon arrival in Puerto Viejo it one disappointment after the other. I was promised to be picked up by the host upon arrival in Puerto Viejo. Yet shortly before I arrived I was notified by the host Gean that he is supposedly „unable to pick me up“, which is w

Your experience at Finca Ardilla was, without a doubt, unusual and disappointing. The lack of honesty in your departure left us bewildered, and frankly, your lie about it was unacceptable, considering that you are an adult with the mind of a child.
Believing that you deserve special treatment or should be treated like a "goddess" is an unrealistic perspective. In our home, we value equality and mutual respect, and we expect all volunteers to understand and uphold these principles.
We hope that this experience serves as a lesson on the importance of open communication and realistic expectation management, as well as the necessity of being honest in all interactions. We wish that in future adventures, you can be more honest with yourself and with others.
