Amelia and Pete were amazing, they have beautiful areas and a lovely project together. You can use the time to reconnect with the nature and take a moment for yourself. The food is really good and more than enough. My only recommendation is to be aware the location of the Hotel, is in the middle of the eco village and you needs to walk arrojan 30 min to get the nearest bus. I enjoyed my experience and recommended.

- Good things: the cenote and the pool is always there for u, the dogs are very kind, sometimes the owners are in a good mood and they would give you food or drinks, the experience itself was good for exploring Mexico because the other volunteers - Bad things: no organization for the volunteers, not too much breakfast, there is a dangerous monkey near and in 1 month they've never done a ride to the road, they don't recognize the work u do, bad education and disrespect by one of the owners

Hello Antonio, I hope the rest of your trip in Mexico was a success.

We would like to note that as this was your first experience volunteering abroad, you had unrealistic expectations on volunteering.
This was obvious on your first day (seemed like your first time washing up, sweeping etc.) with this in mind, we lowered our expectations of what you were capable of and gave you very menial tasks for the duration of your stay.

We started our volunteers page to receive good help in the return for the use of our facilities and 3 meals a day with lodging (which is generous for only 5 hours of work in the mornings). (You could have made your breakfast as big or little as you like as these are prepped yourself).

Sadly for Antonio, this was not enough.. He was disenchanted, disconnected, not proactive and unfortunately a distraction to the other members of staff and had a negative effect toward the status quo. We would actively encourage positivity through daily meetings, which would be forgotten before it would even sink in.

Lots of hours were wasted due to lack of engagement which made us feel like guardians rather than volunteer hosts for adults.

(Emergency trip to the hospital at 1am for a tummy ache, only for you to be chirpy and feeling fine once you had seen the Dr and they couldn't find anything wrong, so drove 40 mins back home).

Good luck with your future endeavours & there's a chance through further experiences you will be able to enjoy these volunteer projects on a better level.

With amenities available such as a private cenote, beautiful pool and plenty of surrounding nature this is a wonderful place to connect with nature in a quiet and serene environment. Work hours were mostly respected except when meetings were held outside of work hours although they were short(10-15 minutes). When communicating with volunteers, Peter didn't always do so with the most respect and patience , but was cool the rest of the time. Amelia and everyone else were always helpful and respectful. Overall, this was beautiful experience.

In my opinion, the work was extremely difficult, heavy, the food was good but very limited, there were days that only two foods were served, the ecological part, left a little to be desired, but the family was cool...

Luiz only stayed a couple of days so it was difficult to assess what he found difficult. We always serve 3 meals a day, and if someone is still hungry they can ask for a sandwich or something else as we know some people or more hungry than others.
As mentioned in out profile we are in the process of building, it is not complete, but once we are more esbalished it will be a eviromently friendly place and secure.
