I had a good experience with this volunteer! The other volunteers were very friendly and the host is very flexible for schedule requests and for shifts preferences. At first, I had morning shifts which are the cleaning shifts, and I asked if I could also have shifts in the afternoon at the rooftop terrace so that I could do different tasks! Also, the location of the volunteer house is great because it is in the city centre of Granada!

No geral, minha experiência foi boa, principalmente pelos outros voluntários. Fiz amigos que quero levar para vida toda. Basicamente, o voluntariado se divide em tarefas de limpeza, recepção e atividades no bar do rooftop. Quase sempre fiquei na limpeza e, muitas vezes, era um trabalho pesado. Esse foi o ponto que menos gostei, porque me sentia mais como uma empregada do hostel do que como uma voluntária. Um aspecto muito bom é a localização do hostel e da casa onde moram os voluntários, que fica no centro de Granada. Estamos perto de tudo, da Catedral, do Alhambra... E a cidade é incrível!

From the very first moment in the flat I felt very comfortable, a friendly and quiet environment was immediately created in which I always had the opportunity to speak Spanish. I spent the first few weeks in the limpieza, the girls explained everything to me in a precise manner as a certain commitment and responsibility is required. Afterwards I switched to shifts in reception, which I alternated with limpieza from time to time. Here I learnt how to de to deal with customers. I always got on well with both Jose and the other guys. I recommend the experience.

I had a great month helping out as a volunteer at Duquesa and Zacatín. The time was flying by and I enjoyed every minute of it! This was only possible thanks to all the amazing, loveable and caring staff which wanted all the volunteers to feel comfortable during the whole stay. Another great part about this volunteer work was, that the volunteers had their own space next to the Hostel which created a great atmosphere between all the volunteers. It was the best experience I could have asked for as my first volunteer work and I can only recommend it! Thank you sooo much for everything❤️!

This experience was exactly as advertised so it was nice that everything went as expected. The accommodation is a cute staff flat right across from the hostel and it has everything you need. The hosts are great and easy to get along with, and I can say the same for the other cleaners Johanna and Esther. The only thing is that sometimes the schedule was weird so one day there would be 5 people working and the next there would be 2. I had a couple of days where there was way too much work for only two people and it was very stressful. Overall it was a good experience and thanks for everything!

My experience here was wonderful! I immediately felt at home! People here are kind and helpful. The host, Jose, is super nice and available for any request, as well as every staff person. Other volunteers are so special. We had a lot fun, in and out of the house! I also met other beautiful spanish people. If you want to learn spanish and get to know Spain better it's the perfect place. And in addition…Granada is a beautiful city and I really mean this! There is everything you need in a city, but also a lot of nature and wonderful landscapes whenever you want!

A minha experiência no hostel e Duquesa foi muito boa! Os anfitriões Jose e Saray são pessoas boas, os funcionários também e todos muito prestativos! Os voluntários tem uma energia muito boa e são muito amáveis. A cidade também é linda! Recomendo!

A big thank you to the team for my experience in Granada! I was assisting with the housekeeping duties, all hours and schedules were well organised and never went over time. We received our weekly schedule on the Sunday so we could plan our week around it. 5 hours per day (10am-3pm for housekeeping) 5 days per week, with 2 days off side-by-side so you can explore beautiful Granada The tasks were very structured which I liked, there was a person giving directions so you're never wondering what to do. It was all in Spanish! Which was exactly the experience I wanted to improve :)
